Azulejos - originally these were white and blue ceramic tiles, brought to Europe by the Moors. They gained fame and popularity in Portugal after King Manuel I visited southern Spain. The king was fascinated by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorations of the palace in the Alhambra and, impressed by them, immediately commissioned his palace in Portugal to be decorated with similar tiles.
In Azul, you play the role of an artist laying out beautiful Azulejos mosaics on the walls of the royal palace in Évora.
During the round, each player chooses tiles from one of the supplier workshops and places them in his warehouse. Then all players simultaneously - in a strictly defined manner - transfer the collected tiles to the palace wall. After laying the tiles on the wall, the points are counted. The player with the most points during the game will be the winner.
