DoS2 presents you with the second role-playing game placed in the world of Rivellon, where your task as a player is to save it from the darkness looming over the land and races living there. In the sequel just as in the original game, you need to be aware of any decisions you make as most of them have an impact on the story or the environment. Create your own character or choose from those with already prepared backstories, pick your companions and travel across the world alone or in a co-op mode. Now you can play it yourself or give it to your friend as a Steam gift.

Gameplay

Divinity: Original Sin 2 can be described as a third-person isometric point-of-view role-playing-game with turn-based combat. The world reacts heavily to the choices you make so be prepared to consider your every decision as you may even lock yourself from a number of significant plot points. The game offers the selection of up to three companions that will accompany you through the journey or alternatively, a road of a lone wolf. Players are able to control the companions in the same way as the main character, and it is even possible to split up your party for various tactical moves. When you decide to control the other party members you may observe different interactions with the environment and NPC’s.

The Protagonist

When beginning your journey in the world of Rivellon the game gives you the option to choose from a number of characters with their set appearances, stats, and backstories, or to create your own personalized hero. If you decide to make your own build you need to consider the class you want to play as there are 12 of them, the stat points of your character, tags, which serve as the hero’s aspirations the appearance and race. As in the previous game you can choose your race from the 4 standard ones like humans, elves dwarves, and lizards, but also exclusively the sequel presents you with a new option - the undead variants of each of the already mentioned races.

Additional features

If you’re a fan of crafting then in Divinity 2 you can make use of many elements you find on your way by combining them together simply in your inventory, or by using surrounding appliances like furnaces. The game features not only a single but also a multiplayer mode (local or online) where you may play with one of your friends in a co-op mode or an arena with teams playing against each other.
