Thinking about finally entering Tarkov this Black Friday? Whether you are starting from scratch, looking at a bigger edition, or want access to the PvE mode, there are several Escape from Tarkov options worth comparing before November 27.

Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore extraction FPS built around high-stakes raids. You enter a location alone or with a squad, fight other players and AI-controlled enemies, gather equipment and valuables, and try to reach an extraction point alive. Die during the raid and much of what you brought with you can be lost.

It is deliberately demanding, with detailed weapon handling, injuries, inventory management, survival systems, and a much harsher learning curve than a typical arcade shooter. If that sounds like your kind of punishment, Black Friday is a sensible time to compare the different ways into Tarkov.

What’s different for Black Friday 2026?

The big change since last year’s Black Friday article is that Escape from Tarkov is now available on Steam. The Steam version launched on November 15, 2025, giving new players another way to buy the game alongside Battlestate’s own platform.

Steam currently lists Standard, Left Behind, Prepare for Escape, and The Unheard editions. There is also separate PvE Zone content for players who want Tarkov’s progression and combat without relying entirely on the traditional PvP raid experience.

Which Escape from Tarkov edition should you check?

If you simply want to find out whether Tarkov’s brutal extraction loop is for you, the Standard Edition is the obvious starting point. Left Behind and Prepare for Escape expand what you receive, while The Unheard Edition is the biggest package and includes additional Tarkov content, including PvE access.

PvE Zone is also worth checking separately if cooperative progression without the normal global wipes is the part that interests you most. Just make sure you read the item page before buying, especially when adding content to an existing copy of the game.

Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27, but you do not have to wait until the final Friday to start comparing offers. Tarkov has more purchasing options than it did a year ago, so knowing which edition and platform you actually want will make it much easier to recognize a worthwhile deal when Black Friday arrives.
