Is there anyone who hasn’t heard of Fortnite at least once? It is a popular FPS MMO game, especially among children and teenagers, developed by Epic Games in 2017. The game offers many hours of free-to-play entertainment in a great visual setting and many possibilities to personalize the character thanks to the so-called skins.

The secret of Fortnite’s popularity

The title initially started with two modes: the cooperative Save the World and the additional Battle Royale mode. However, it was the fight for survival that captivated Fortnite players the most and led to the separation of those modes, resulting in the creation of two separate games. Besides competing against other players, Fortnite: Battle Royale offers the ability to customize characters using a wide variety of skins, allowing for the creation of different, fun, or epic characters. Skins were precisely what brought this game such enormous popularity and recognition.

Best superhero skins

Skins in Fortnite are cosmetic items that players can apply to their characters for personalization.

Skins are usually aesthetic changes, and players use them to express themselves or implement their favourite characters from pop culture into the game. They range from simple changes like hairstyles or outfit colours to skins that closely resemble characters from other games and cartoons; cute animals, or superheroes from popular blockbusters.

Summer is a time for various conventions and pop culture events, so we have prepared a list of the 15 best superhero-themed skins! We will also provide information on how to obtain or where to buy them. Are you ready? Let’s dive into the reading!

Unfortunately, it is not and was not available individually. To become its happy owner, you had to buy the Marvel: Royalty And Warriors package in the Fortnite Store. And here’s another note – the set was only available for real money, costing $24.99.

It must be admitted that the outfit is very similar to its prototype, i.e. Black Panther from the MCU film series. Along with it, the set includes the King’s Cowl, Vibranium Daggers and the Wakandan Skyrider glider.

A pretty weird, not quite a hero from the Marvel stable. Deadpool appeared as part of the Battle Pass in Chapter 2 Season 2 – and unfortunately only then, and that means it wasn’t available in the store.

In order to earn the Deadpool skin, you had to complete a series of weekly quests, the last of which involved finding the hideout of the well-liked, if mischievous mercenary.

The faithful representation of the character is impressive, and the set that could be obtained with the skin is quite large. It includes e.g. katanas, hammers, Ravenpool back bling or Dragacorn glider (which looked like a flying llama piñata). It was also possible to unlock the Mask Off version and the alternate, white colour of the skin named X-force after completing several weekly challenges.

  • Skin available only in Season 2 Chapter 2 Battle Pass
  • Skin available after completing quest

Wolverine, like the previously mentioned Deadpool, was not available to purchase as a traditional skin.

To earn this outfit and its rewards, you had to purchase the Season 4 Chapter 2 Battle Pass and then complete a series of weekly challenges.

After completing 10 challenges, the classic Wolverine skin is unlocked, and to get the Logan skin (Wolverine without the X-man outfit), you need to complete 60 of them! The silver, gold and holo Wolverine skins were also prepared for the patient conquerors of even more challenges. Of course, the Adamantium Claws and Wolverine’s Trophy back bling are also included with the outfit.

Key features
  • Skin available only in Season 4 Chapter 2 Battle Pass
  • Skin available after completing challenges

12. Thor

Release date:2020-08-27

Like previous skins, this one required you to compete in Battle Pass quests. The pass came in Chapter 2 Season 4 and the skin itself was part of the Thor set.

One of the challenges required to get the alternative, blue version of Thor was dealing 100 damage to enemies while playing as the God of Thunder, using Mjölnir. The design of the skin was based on the little-known comic version of Thor from The Devourer King by Donny Cates.

  • Skin based on comic book version of Thor
  • Skin available only in Season 4 Chapter 2 Battle Pass

  • Skin based on Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man
  • Cost of the set: 2100 V-Bucks
  • Cost of the skin: 1500 V-Bucks

14. Thanos

Release date:2021-06-27

The time has come for the skin of a true Marvel anti-hero. The Thanos skin in Fortnite: Battle Royale was released on June 27, 2021. However, it was possible to obtain the Thanos outfit before its official release. To do so, all you had to do was secure a sufficiently high place in the Thanos Cup, which took place on June 21, 2021.

Those who failed, had to throw a penny in the Fortnite Store and buy the skin for 1500 V-Bucks.

The Thanos skin is part of the Mad Titan set and was released in Chapter 2 Season 7. Of course, Thanos doesn’t go anywhere without his most powerful attribute, the Infinity Gauntlet…

Key features
  • Part of the Mad Titan set
  • Possibility of obtaining the skin in Thanos Cup
  • Cost of the skin: 1500 V-Bucks.

15. Venom

Release date:2020-11-21

Another Marvel anti-hero came to Fortnite: Battle Royale on November 21, 2020. If someone wanted to save a few V-bucks, they could try their hand at the Venom Cup (November 18, 2020), where the prize was, of course, the Venom skin.

For the rest of the players, there was a consolation prize in the form of the opportunity to purchase the skin itself for 2000 V-Bucks or the Venom Bundle for 2800 V-Bucks.

The skin was available with the additions: Symbiote Slasher harvesting tool and Tendril Tote back bling. It was possible to unlock the Extreme version of the skin, and this, in turn, was based on a comic book character in which Lee Price was the “host” of the symbiote.

Key features

  • Cost of the skin: 2000 V-Bucks
  • Cost of the bundle: 2800 V-Bucks

Conclusion

That concludes our ranking. It’s undeniable that the Marvel series took it over. We based it largely on the popularity of the mentioned skins, but our top 15 is not an exhaustive list of superhero skins available in Fortnite. Almost every hero and anti-hero from the MCU and DC has their Fortnite counterpart.

Did you manage to acquire any of the mentioned skins?
