Assassin’s Creed: Origins, released in 2017, is the tenth full instalment of the iconic series dedicated to the Assassin’s Brotherhood, which has been operating almost since the dawn of time.

This time, the storyline takes us to Ancient Egypt, where we embody Bayek of Siwa. Similar to previous instalments, here too we have a second, more contemporary narrative focusing on the fate of Layla Hassan, who has constructed her own Animus.

The game, like other parts of the series, has attracted a multitude of fans and continues to receive fairly high ratings among players to this day. Besides the engaging main storyline, beautiful graphics, and intriguing action, all titles in the series conceal a number of various mysteries…

About Assassin’s Creed: Origins Secrets and Easter Eggs

The map in AC Origins is truly vast. But surely, you haven’t found all the hidden gems in the game… Easter Eggs!

And there’s no shortage of them – from references to other games, through motifs known from iconic movies, to fantastic weapons and artefacts brought from other universes. Are you ready to discover the most intriguing Assassin’s Creed Origins secrets and their locations? Let’s get started!

5 Most Interesting Hidden Secrets and Easter Eggs

  • The TARDIS Ended Her Journey in Egypt

Here’s an interesting titbit that will surely delight or rather sadden all fans of the iconic Doctor Who series produced since the 60s. To discover it, you need to dive into the canal at Letopolis and thoroughly search the bottom.

It’s right there, not on Trenzalore, that the TARDIS ended her journey. The legs protruding from the cabin suggest that the Doctor (or one of his companions) also met a sorry end – underwater, in Ancient Egypt…

  • Watch Dogs Shares the Universe with Assassin’s Creed?

Few know, but the plot of the game Watch Dogs takes place in the same universe as Assassin’s Creed! Don’t believe it? Then exit the Animus, and as Layla, locate the laptop in the office. You’ll find CCTV footage of Oliver Garneau killing someone.

Yes, that Oliver Garneau – from the Criminal Convoy side quest Requiescat In Pace in Watch Dogs. And as if that weren’t enough, there are also many references to the AC series in the WD series.

  • Fantastic Gear from Final Fantasy XV

Some time ago, the creators announced a crossover between Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy, which is confirmed in AC Origins. Just level up your character to level 23, then go during dawn to the Saqqara Nome area, where the active quest will be marked with a green diamond.

This quest is called A Gift From Gods and doesn’t require any fighting – it’s a collection of several logical puzzles. Upon completion, you’ll see a short cutscene with an antagonist from Final Fantasy XV, and the reward will be a set of legendary weapons and a mount… eerily resembling a Chocobo.

  • Ancient Egypt Gollum?

The Lord of the Rings is a timeless masterpiece that not only has been adapted into movies and its own games but has also inspired many contemporary titles (e.g., The Elder Scrolls series, which is filled with references to LOTR and its characters). One of Tolkien’s motifs also found its way into AC Origins.

After reaching level 18, open the map, find Giza on it, and locate the quest called Precious Bond. The task is to find a trapped prisoner and rescue him. The prisoner will then entrust you with a quest to find his “precious ring”. In the final cutscene of this quest, Bayek tosses the ring, and the whole scene looks like it’s straight out of Peter Jackson’s Trilogy.

  • First Lesson: Stick em’ with the Pointy End

Though not a special quest or a legendary weapon, this is certainly an interesting Easter Egg that all fans of the outstanding Game of Thrones series will appreciate. In the second episode of the first season of the series, when Arya wanted to learn sword fighting, Jon Snow began the training with the words: “First lesson: stick em’ with the pointy end”. A little later, the girl named her faithful sword The Needle.

In AC Origins, by visiting any blacksmith, we can find a weapon with the exact same description and name – although it’s not a sword but a spear with quite decent statistics.
