Table of Contents
All Cyberpunk 2077 endings
There are four main endings in the base game, one additional ending from Phantom Liberty, one secret variation, and one “easy way out” ending. Most of them start during Nocturne Op55N1, when V reaches Misty’s rooftop and must decide who to trust.
| Ending | Requirement | Main outcome |
|---|---|---|
| The Devil | Call Hanako during Nocturne Op55N1. | V trusts Arasaka and faces a corporate solution. |
| The Star | Complete Panam’s Queen of the Highway side job. | V leaves Night City with the Aldecaldos. |
| The Sun | Complete Rogue’s Blistering Love path. | V becomes a legend of the Afterlife. |
| Temperance | Unlock Panam or Rogue’s path and choose Johnny. | Johnny keeps V’s body. |
| The Tower | Finish the Phantom Liberty path and accept Reed’s offer. | V survives, but at a heavy personal cost. |
| Secret Ending | Pick Johnny’s key dialogue in Chippin’ In, then wait on the rooftop. | V and Johnny storm Arasaka Tower alone. |
| Path of Least Resistance | Choose the suicide option on Misty’s rooftop. | V ends the story immediately. |
Worth Knowing: Hanako’s Arasaka path is always available, but the Panam, Rogue, secret, and Phantom Liberty endings require specific quest progress.
The Devil ending
The Devil is the Arasaka ending. It becomes available through the main story and does not require Panam or Rogue’s side quests.
- Call Hanako Arasaka during Nocturne Op55N1.
- Take the omega-blockers.
- Complete Last Caress, Totalimmortal, and Where Is My Mind?.
- Save Takemura during Search and Destroy if you want the achievement.
At the end of this path, V can either sign Arasaka’s contract and become an engram, or refuse and return to Earth.
The Star ending
The Star is the Aldecaldos ending and one of the most hopeful finales in Cyberpunk 2077.
- Complete Panam’s side questline, including Queen of the Highway.
- Call Panam for help during Nocturne Op55N1.
- Take the omega-blockers.
- Inside Mikoshi, enter the well as V.
- Finish All Along the Watchtower.
This ending has V leave Night City with Panam and the Aldecaldos, searching for a possible cure beyond the city.
The Sun ending
The Sun is the Afterlife legend ending. It focuses on V’s reputation and final rise in Night City.
- Complete Chippin’ In.
- Complete Rogue’s Blistering Love side job.
- Choose Johnny’s plan and ask Rogue for help during Nocturne Op55N1.
- Take the pseudoendotrizine.
- Inside Mikoshi, cross the bridge as Johnny.
- Finish Path of Glory.
This route ends with V becoming the owner of the Afterlife and taking on one more dangerous job.
Temperance ending
Temperance is the ending where Johnny Silverhand keeps V’s body. It can be reached through Panam, Rogue, or the secret ending route.
- Unlock Panam and/or Rogue’s ending path.
- Reach Mikoshi.
- Choose the option that lets Johnny remain in V’s body.
- Finish New Dawn Fades.
The result is bittersweet: Johnny gets a second chance at life, while V leaves their body behind and joins Alt beyond the Blackwall.
The Tower ending – Phantom Liberty
The Tower was added in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. It gives V a chance to survive, but the cost is brutal.
- Progress through the Phantom Liberty storyline.
- Either help Songbird escape and later hand her over, or side with Reed and spare Songbird.
- Accept Reed’s offer for treatment.
- Choose to call Reed in Who Wants To Live Forever or Nocturne Op55N1.
- Finish Things Done Changed.
V survives the Relic, but loses access to their old combat lifestyle. Many relationships also change or end during this route.
The core trade-off: The Tower saves V’s life, but it takes away the version of V that could survive as a Night City merc.
Secret ending – (Don’t Fear) The Reaper
The secret ending is a special variation of The Sun route. Instead of asking allies for help, V and Johnny attack Arasaka Tower alone.
To unlock it, pick these key dialogue responses during Chippin’ In at the Northern Oil Fields:
- “Nah, fucked that up too.”
- “What do you want from me?”
- “Ok. But as second chances go, this is your last.”
Later, during Nocturne Op55N1, wait on Misty’s rooftop for about five minutes without choosing Hanako, Rogue, or Panam. Johnny will eventually offer another option.
Important: If V dies during the secret Arasaka Tower assault, the game ends immediately and the credits treat it like a suicide outcome.
Path of Least Resistance
Path of Least Resistance is the suicide ending. On Misty’s rooftop, V can decide to stop the fight immediately.
- Choose the dialogue option suggesting V could put everything to rest.
- Confirm by selecting the option to toss the pills.
The story ends with a view of Night City, followed by emotional credit calls from V’s friends and allies.
Cyberpunk 2077 ending rewards
After completing an ending, some rewards are added to the save before Nocturne Op55N1. Rewards vary depending on the path, but several endings can grant cyberware and unique items.

| The Devil | Genjiroh, The Devil Tarot Card, Gorilla Arms, Militech Berserk |

| The Tower | Access Token, Gorilla Arms, Militech Berserk |
| Path of Least Resistance | No rewards |
Which Cyberpunk 2077 ending is best?
There is no single “true” best ending, because each finale focuses on a different version of V’s story.
Choose The Star if you want the most hopeful ending and a future outside Night City.
Choose The Sun if you want V to become a Night City legend.
Choose Temperance if you care most about Johnny’s redemption arc.
Choose The Tower if survival matters most, even if it means losing V’s old life.
If you want hope, pick The Star. If you want legend status, pick The Sun. If you want the most brutal “you survived, but at what cost?” ending, Phantom Liberty’s The Tower is the one to watch.
