Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a game that is set to be released soon. Its launch is scheduled for September 9th, 2024, with a four-day early access period for players who choose to pre-order one of the higher editions.
This is the long-awaited (13 years!) sequel to the 2011 game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, which is based on the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniature wargame system. In the game, we take on the role of one of the Ultramarines, Titus, and in his shoes, we traverse the battlefield, destroying hordes of Tyranids along the way.
You can find Warhammer Games Keys Deals on G2A.COM.
However, what is also important is that Space Marine 2 offers multiplayer modes where players can team up to fight enemies or clash against each other. And as in any multiplayer shooter, the roles of individual players in the team will be crucial. We have prepared a short guide for you on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 classes and chapters!
Space Marine 2 Classes
Those who have already played Space Marine from 2011 or know this world from miniatures and tabletop maps will not be surprised by the availability of classes in Space Marine 2. In this title, we will be able to take on one of the 6 available roles:
- Assault – Equipped with a Heavy Bolt Pistol, Thunderhammer and a Jump Pack, this is a great class for close-range attacks.
- Bulwark – Armed with a Plasma Pistol and Power Sword, and equipped with a Storm Shield, this is the classic tank.
- Heavy Fighter – Wields a Heavy Bolter and Bolt Pistol and is equipped with a special Iron Halo that can protect nearby allies.
- Sniper – Carries three weapons: Bolt Sniper Rifle, Bolt Pistol, and Combat Knife, along with a Camo Cloak. This is the choice for those who prefer ranged combat.
- Tactical – Equipped only with a Bolt Rifle and Auspex Scan, this class is for those who enjoy hunting.
- Vanguard – Like the Sniper, it has three weapons: Instigator Bolt Carbine, Bolt Pistol, and Combat Knife, as well as a Grapnel Launcher. This class is the master of reconnaissance and infiltration.
Moreover, besides choosing a class, you can also select the Chapter you want to belong to in the game. There are as many as 10 options: Ultramarines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, Space Wolves, Salamanders, Raven Guard, Black Templars, White Scars, and Red Scorpions.
Customization Options
However, the ability to customize your Space Marine does not end with the selection of the Chapter and Class. The game offers extensive customization options for the appearance of your armour, including its colour. Additionally, Space Marine 2 provides players with the Heraldry Editor, where you can create and personalize your own Chapter.
Weapons can also be customized and upgraded using perks acquired during gameplay. The developers also announced that with the release of DLCs, the options and possibilities for personalizing Space Marines and their equipment will increase. However, they emphasized that these customizations will be purely cosmetic, so they won’t affect character stats and give any advantage to those who purchased the add-ons.
