The second season of the Fallout series is just around the corner — according to the latest fallout season 2 trailer, new episodes are landing on Amazon Prime on December 17th, 2025.

But the release date isn’t the only thing we can squeeze out of that clip — especially if you’re a long-time fan of the franchise.

Post-apocalyptic Vegas, those unmistakably “Roman” armors, the desert backdrop… Season two is clearly gearing up to borrow a whole lot from Obsidian’s Fallout New Vegas!

Why Do Fans Think New Vegas is Coming To The Show — Speculation & Trailer Analysis

Season one of Fallout showered us with game references — especially to Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. But the finale gave us the tease everyone was waiting for: Hank MacLean, trudging through the desert in his power armor toward a Vegas-like skyline on the horizon. It was the perfect hint that we might be heading into Fallout: New Vegas territory.

Fallout Season Two Official Trailer | Prime Video

Fans had to wait until the first teaser, which dropped in the summer. It showcased The Gambling Capital of the World — plus a Pre-War-era figure who could very well be Mr. House. Of course, sharing a setting doesn’t automatically confirm story continuity or direct callbacks to the game… but the official trailer from November 14th pretty much settled the debate. So, which elements point toward a Fallout: New Vegas-inspired direction?

Environmental Clues And World-Building Hints

The environmental signals are the most obvious: Mojave-style desert vistas, a “Las Vegas 50 miles” sign found by Lucy and The Ghoul, and then a very prominent “Welcome to Las New Vegas” sign. Add to that a whole spectrum of neon-lit buildings — former (or still running?) casinos — with the Lucky 38 towering proudly above it all.

Characters (Or Character Types) Spotted In The Trailer

  • Mr. House — Even in the teaser, we got a glimpse of the Lucky 38 interior and a moustachioed man who could pass for Robert House. His likeness on a large terminal screen and the appearance of his signature robots in the trailer strongly suggest that the canonical Mr. House will be making an appearance.
  • Caesar & Caesar’s Legion — The teaser briefly showed warriors in red&gold semi-Roman armour. The full trailer adds another quick shot of Macaulay Culkin (great casting BTW) in a very Legion-esque outfit taking out another similarly dressed fighter. Caesar, is that you?
  • NCR Rangers At 2:03, you can spot a character with a rifle wearing a distinctive leather duster — a strong nod toward NCR Rangers, which are iconic for anyone familiar with the Fallout New Vegas characters.
  • Veronica — The trailer features plenty of Brotherhood of Steel members, but one stands out: a female scribe at 0:50. Could that be Veronica Santangelo, about 15 years older?

And while we’re at it — among the less “human” entities, fans noticed Deathclaws (missing from season one yet abundant in FNV), Radscorpions crawling across the desert… and honestly, we’re all collectively wondering whether those damned Cazadors will show up too.

Faction References

This is where things heat up even more. The trailer dedicates plenty of time to the Brotherhood of Steel — understandably, since Maximus is tied to them. We also get a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot of an NCR flag, some characters that look like its Rangers, and of course the previously mentioned Caesar’s Legion. There’s also evidence suggesting that we might see members of The Kings, the classy Chairmen, and Mr. House’s robots — essentially many of the key factions from the game.

What Could This Mean For Season 2’s Story?

Season one delivered a completely original narrative — no direct adaptation, but a strong story with standout threads and that classic Fallout sense of mystery. We’re hoping season two keeps up the momentum. And honestly? Bringing in elements from Fallout: New Vegas can only make things better.

FNV remains one of the most beloved and critically acclaimed entries in the “modern” Fallout lineup. Complex, branching, engaging — and, sadly, never given a proper sequel (beyond a few DLCs). So maybe the show will serve as its spiritual continuation — set roughly a decade and a half after the events of the game?

Counting Down To The Premiere!

FNV takes place in 2281, while season one of the show is set in 2296 — a 15-year difference. If season two is meant to be a canonical follow-up, then not all our theories are guaranteed. Some characters or locations might actually be something — or someone — entirely different than we expect.

Still, as fans hungry for references, Easter eggs, and cameos, we’d love to see a powerful and charismatic Mr. House, intriguing antagonists like Benny, Brotherhood-linked characters such as Veronica, and fan-favourite figures tied to the region — like Boone. What will actually make it into the show? We’ll find out on December 17th.

If you haven’t watched season one yet, we wholeheartedly recommend it. And if you’ve already watched it and are waiting for season two but haven’t played any of the games, do yourself a favor and play Fallout: New Vegas beforehand — spotting all the winks and nods to fans will make the “FNV tv series” experience even sweeter.
