Final Fantasy VII Revelation – The Final Part
It was the kind of reveal many Final Fantasy VII fans had been waiting for. So what can we expect from Revelation?
For starters, check out the trailer:
Worth knowing: in the first seconds of the trailer, we can see that Sephiroth is back, the Weapons have awakened, and Meteor is approaching the world.
What about the party? If you played Rebirth, you know that someone is missing. In that character’s place, we are getting two new party members: Cid and Vincent Valentine.
The World of Revelation Is Yours to Explore
One of the biggest highlights is the Highwind, Cid’s ship, which lets you travel around the world freely. You can visit locations known from Remake and Rebirth, as well as new areas such as Wutai.
Naoki Hamaguchi explained that the world from Rebirth has been adjusted to work better with Highwind travel. Because of that, we can expect bigger and smaller changes to Nibelheim, the Corel Region, Cosmo Canyon, Gongaga, Junon, and the Grasslands.

Hamaguchi also confirmed that Midgar will return in Revelation and that players will be able to explore it again.
Reunion with Cloud Is Closer Than You Think
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for spring 2027. I expected it to arrive later, possibly between December 2027 and January 2028.

Worth knowing: one of the most interesting details from the trailer is that Final Fantasy VII Revelation is planned to release on all platforms at the same time. That means no more PlayStation timed exclusivity, unlike Remake and Rebirth.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will put much more focus on player choice, exploration, and character development than Rebirth. The Highwind is available from the start, Vincent and Cid bring new combat styles, Zack has a bigger role, Wutai and Midgar return with expanded stories, and the game will deliver a definitive ending built around the theme of “resolve.”
Now Is the Time to Catch Up
If you were wondering whether now is the right time to get to know Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, Sephiroth, and the other iconic characters, the answer is simple: play Remake and Rebirth.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
Release Date: April 10, 2021
Genres: Role-playing (RPG), Adventure
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Release Date: January 23, 2025
Genres: Role-playing (RPG), Adventure
Both games are strong experiences, and you do not need to know the plot of the original Final Fantasy VII. The Remake trilogy is a reimagined version of the story created under Naoki Hamaguchi’s direction.
Polish your Buster Sword, prepare your Materia, and get ready for Revelation.
