Cyberpunk 2077 remained in the development stage for quite a bit – CD Projekt Red wanted to take their time to polish the game as much as possible, so we could get the best open-world RPG experience up to date.

If you find Cyberpunk as exciting as we do, then you may also want to try other similar productions.

Remember Me

Release date:2013-06-03
Genre:Adventure
Developer:DON'T NOD

Remember Me is quite unique and thus worth playing – there aren’t many action-adventure games that focus on fast-paced melee combat, and if you consider only sci-fi titles, the pool of available games shrinks even more.

If you are looking for a refreshing experience in a futuristic world, you can’t go wrong with this one. Remember Me tells the story of a girl named Nilin whose memories were mostly erased. Following the advice of a mysterious voice, she tries to escape the hostile facility and begins her journey, trying to recover her memories and learn about the past. Melee combat plays a huge part in the game – you will fight countless enemies using bare hands in a good old arcade style with combo-based attacks that will test your reaction speed and reflexes. Master the available moveset and create your own combos to become more efficient in battle and take down even the most demanding opponents with ease.

Key features
  • An intriguing story in a futuristic setting
  • Third-person gameplay with platforming and exploration elements
  • Dynamic combo-based combat system with customizable attacks
  • Simple puzzles that will test your wits

Grand Theft Auto V

Release date:2015-04-14
Genre:Adventure
Developer:Rockstar North

Cyberpunk 2077 features a huge open-world environment, so it wouldn’t be surprising if it turned out that if you are a fan of Cyberpunk 2077, you will also like GTA V.

Although the game doesn’t take place in the future, there are still some similarities between GTA V and Cyberpunk 2077, and the most important one is probably the vast open world that can be freely explored at your own pace. You are not forced to do any missions, so if you’re not in a mood for beating the game, then you may as well just take a trip around the city and admire the looks. Both games are incredibly detailed, so don’t rush it and take your time to appreciate the effort developers have put into creating these living and believable worlds.

Key features
  • Huge believable open-world environment based on California and its surroundings
  • A well-written story that feels like a good American movie
  • A huge amount of freedom, leisure activities, and a wide array of available weapons and vehicles
  • A constantly updated online mode that is living its own life

CD Projekt Red’s most famous child is the reason why we weren’t worried about the Cyberpunk’s feature, despite the fact that the Cyberpunk’s release was postponed several times. The Witcher III is the final part of Geralt’s saga, and arguably the best part of the three, which is quite a feat, considering that usually, it’s the first game that receives the best reviews. The game offers not only a huge world you can freely explore as a monster-slaying mutant for hire, but also a smooth combat system, and one of the best medieval-inspired RPG experiences available up to date.

Key features
  • Rich RPG experience with memorable characters and beautiful locations
  • A vast open-world environment filled with dangerous creatures and valuable treasures
  • A fluid combat system that combines the use of melee weapons with simple magic abilities
  • Character progression with several separate skill trees available

Fallout 4

Although the Fallout series focuses on quite a different theme, it still might be of value for those who love Cyberpunk 2077. Put on your vault suit and start the journey in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Fallout is an iconic series that started back in 1997, but new games are still coming every now and then. Fallout 4 is one of the latest entries in the franchise, and a true pleasure to play, thanks to some new features, such as an extensive crafting system and the possibility to construct a base. As the Sole Survivor, your task is simple – leave the secure vault, where you were hiding from the nuclear fallout, and explore the open-world environment in order to find those who kidnapped your child and murdered your spouse. So, maybe not so easy. Good luck.

Key features
  • Post-apocalyptic setting and nuclear wasteland landscapes
  • A huge open-world environment full of dangerous mutated creatures

If glowing neon lights and retro-style electro music is what you find among the most appealing things about Cyberpunk 2077, then you should definitely try Ghostrunner.

Fallout 4

Ghostrunner could probably be described by some as a simpler version of Cyberpunk 2077, without an open world and focused on parkour and dynamic fast-paced combat. You will quickly slash through levels with the use of abilities such as dash, grapple, and wall run, jumping from one enemy to another and delivering deadly blows with your trusty katana. What makes this gore slaughter-fest even more fun is the music – a well-written collection of electro and techno tracks that simply shouts “cyberpunk” and fuels your inner warrior.

Key features
  • Futuristic setting that combines neon lights with dark and dirty industrial locations
  • Intense melee-based gameplay that puts emphasis on fast movement
  • Numerous simple puzzles that will give you a moment to take a breath and relax
  • Excellent music that perfectly fits the cyberpunk theme

Key features
  • Futuristic setting that focuses on the story of a detective who can hack people’s minds

The Best Games Like Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a long-awaited RPG set in the futuristic Night City – a city that never sleeps, and where corporations and gangs fight for power and dominance. You will be thrown right in the middle of the action and, as a mercenary for hire, you will have to quickly adapt to the situation you found yourself in. Use a wide array of weapons and ability-enhancing implants to overcome the challenges and reveal the plot that will take you to the most influential and dangerous people in the city. Explore the vast open world at your own pace and make Night City your new home – there’s so much you have to see.

Finding a game similar to CP2077 is not an easy task, due to how unique the game is. It combines an open-world environment with a cyberpunk setting, gorgeous graphics, addictive storyline, memorable characters, outstanding score, dynamic action, and rich RPG experience. There are, however, some games, that can serve as interesting alternatives – depending on what you love about Cyberpunk 2077 the most, you will pick a different title. If you love the Cyberpunk genre, check out some cyberpunk video games and if you like fast-paced action and retro electro music, then maybe Ghostrunner is a game for you. If you prefer a more RPG-focused title, then maybe CD Projekt Red’s previous game, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, will be a better choice.
