In August 2026, it accounted for 3.92% of surveyed systems, ahead of newer GPUs including the RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, and RTX 5070.
That makes a simple question surprisingly relevant: what are the best games for RTX 3060 owners today? At 1080p, the card still has a huge library to choose from. 1440p is also realistic in many games if you tune the expensive settings and use DLSS where it helps.

The common desktop RTX 3060 comes with 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, although an 8 GB model also exists.
It supports hardware ray tracing and DLSS Super Resolution, but not the DLSS Frame Generation functionality found on newer RTX generations.
For most RTX 3060 owners, 1080p High remains the safest target. The card can also handle plenty of games at 1440p, especially when the difference between High and Ultra settings is mostly visible in screenshots rather than during actual gameplay.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is still one of the best games for demonstrating why an RTX 3060 remains useful. Night City looks fantastic at 1080p High, while DLSS gives you extra performance without forcing major cuts to visual quality.
Ray tracing is possible, but moderation matters. A couple of RT effects paired with DLSS make much more sense than attempting full path tracing. If your goal is smooth gameplay rather than benchmarking the GPU into submission, conventional High settings remain excellent.
Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a perfect example of a modern AAA-scale RPG that does not demand a flagship GPU. Detailed characters, busy environments, and spectacular spell effects all work well with an RTX 3060.
1080p High is an easy recommendation, while 1440p is perfectly reasonable with a few settings adjusted. Performance in dense areas such as the city can become CPU-limited, so upgrading the graphics card will not solve every slowdown.
Forza Horizon 5
If you have a 1440p monitor, Forza Horizon 5 should be near the top of your list. Playground Games’ engine scales extremely well while still rendering detailed cars, vegetation, weather, reflections, and a huge open version of Mexico.
High settings are the sweet spot. This is one of those games where Ultra can cost more performance than the visual difference really justifies.
Elden Ring
Elden Ring is a natural RTX 3060 pick because its visual impact comes as much from extraordinary art direction as raw rendering technology. The card is a good match for the game’s standard 60 FPS limit at 1080p.
Ray tracing adds extra load without transforming the experience enough to justify it on this GPU. Turn it off and put the performance budget into stable boss fights instead.
DOOM Eternal
DOOM Eternal can make an RTX 3060 feel much newer than it really is. id Tech is exceptionally efficient, making high frame rates and 1440p far easier to reach than in many newer AAA games.
It is also an excellent technical showcase because DLSS and ray-traced reflections give you room to experiment without turning every firefight into a slideshow.
Control Ultimate Edition
Control is still one of the clearest demonstrations of what hardware ray tracing can add to a game. Reflections, lighting, glass, polished floors, and the Oldest House’s brutalist interiors make the effects easy to notice.
An RTX 3060 cannot brute-force every RT setting at native resolution, but 1080p with DLSS and carefully selected effects remains a great way to show off the card’s RTX hardware.
HELLDIVERS 2
HELLDIVERS 2 is a more practical test of a 2026 RTX 3060 setup. Huge enemy swarms, smoke, explosions, physics, and four-player battles can push the entire PC hard.
1080p Medium to High makes more sense than chasing maximum settings. During massive battles, the CPU can become just as important as the graphics card.
Hogwarts Legacy
The common 12 GB RTX 3060 remains a useful card for Hogwarts Legacy. The generous VRAM allocation is particularly welcome in a game filled with detailed environments and high-resolution textures.
Start at 1080p High and leave ray tracing disabled. Hogwarts and Hogsmeade already look excellent without adding some of the most expensive settings in the menu.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of PC gaming’s best visual showcases. It is also an excellent demonstration of why Ultra settings should not automatically be considered the goal.
Several expensive options have a relatively small effect on image quality. An RTX 3060 delivers a strong 1080p experience and can move into 1440p territory when you balance those settings properly.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sits near the demanding end of this list. Its official recommended specifications call for an RTX 3060 Ti for 1080p, 60 FPS, and High settings.
The standard RTX 3060 is therefore a step below that target, but the game is still a realistic option. Reduce a few expensive settings and use upscaling rather than assuming every new release needs to be played at High or Ultra.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II shows where an RTX 3060 owner needs to become comfortable with the graphics menu. Warhorse lists an RTX 4070 as the recommended GPU, while the minimum requirement drops all the way to a GTX 1060.
The RTX 3060 sits between those extremes. A mixture of Medium and High settings at 1080p is a much more realistic target than simply selecting the maximum preset. Dense towns can also be CPU-heavy, so the graphics card is not always the only limiting factor.
