October 2026: New Xbox games

October is almost over, but there are still several notable Xbox releases and Game Pass additions landing before the month ends.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 with a new campaign, multiplayer, and the returning DMZ extraction mode. The campaign continues the rebooted Modern Warfare storyline, while multiplayer arrives with new maps and a bigger emphasis on current-generation hardware.

  • Release date: October 23, 2026
  • Genre: First-person shooter
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2

Eligible digital preorders received Campaign Early Access from October 16 and DMZ Early Access from October 20. The full game is not included with Game Pass at launch.

Scramble Knights Online

If you want something more social, Scramble Knights Online is an MMO-lite action RPG set in the kingdom of Terracott. You play as a knight-in-training, teaming up with other players to tackle quests, explore dungeons, fight monsters, collect loot, and improve your gear.

  • Release date: October 26, 2026
  • Genre: MMO-lite action RPG
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud

It launches in Game Preview and is available on day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

The Séance of Blake Manor

The Séance of Blake Manor heads in a completely different direction. Set in Ireland in 1897, it is a supernatural detective mystery about the disappearance of a young woman at a remote hotel. You investigate guests, gather evidence, and try to make sense of the increasingly strange events around the manor.

  • Release date: October 27, 2026
  • Genre: Supernatural detective mystery
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud

It arrives on day one with Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is not a new Xbox release in October, but it is a major new Game Pass addition. The Xbox version launched earlier in 2026, and from October 29 subscribers can play Cloud’s reimagined journey through Midgar as part of the service.

  • Game Pass date: October 29, 2026
  • Genre: Action RPG
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud

The package retells the original story up to the escape from Midgar and also includes the EPISODE INTERmission story starring Yuffie.

Planning to play several Game Pass releases? Scramble Knights Online, The Séance of Blake Manor, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, and A Game About Digging a Hole Together are all part of the 2026 lineup.

November 2026: Biggest Xbox releases

November has the biggest release on this list, but GTA VI is not the only game worth watching.

ZERO PARADES: Director’s Cut

ZERO PARADES: Director’s Cut is an espionage RPG starring Hershel Wilk, a burned-out spy pulled back in for one last chance at redemption. The Director’s Cut brings the game to Xbox with around 40,000 words of additional story, Backstage Mode, and full English voice-over.

  • Release date: November 3, 2026
  • Genre: Espionage RPG
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC

Shrek 2 Remastered

For something much lighter, Shrek 2 Remastered brings back the old co-op action-adventure with rebuilt visuals and several new features. You can explore Far Far Away, swap between familiar characters, and play alone or with up to three other players.

  • Release date: November 10, 2026
  • Genre: Action-adventure
  • Platform: Xbox Series X|S

The remaster adds Photo Mode and Cheat Mode alongside four-player couch, online, and mixed co-op.

Grand Theft Auto VI

Then there is Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar’s next open-world game follows Jason and Lucia across Vice City and the wider state of Leonida after a failed score pulls them into a larger criminal conspiracy.

  • Release date: November 19, 2026
  • Genre: Open-world action-adventure
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5

This is comfortably the biggest Xbox launch left in 2026, and probably the one most likely to dominate November. That does not make the other releases irrelevant, but it does mean almost every game launching around it has to compete with one of the largest entertainment releases of the year.

December 2026: More Xbox games to watch

December is quieter in this particular selection, but one very simple idea is getting a much bigger sequel.

A Game About Digging a Hole Together

A Game About Digging a Hole Together keeps the basic loop of the original: dig, collect resources, sell what you find, improve your equipment, and keep going deeper. The difference is that this time you can bring friends.

  • Release date: December 4, 2026
  • Genre: Co-op digging and exploration
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC

The sequel supports online co-op for up to four players, cross-platform play, and also works solo. It launches on Game Pass on day one.

G2A Plus: Members can earn Plus Points on eligible purchases. Plus Premium also adds member pricing, regular bonuses and rewards, and priority post-purchase assistance.

Which upcoming Xbox games are worth watching?

GTA VI is obviously the headline release, but the rest of the year has more variety than that one game suggests. Modern Warfare 4 covers the big multiplayer shooter slot, ZERO PARADES offers something much more narrative-driven, The Séance of Blake Manor looks good for mystery fans, and A Game About Digging a Hole Together could be an easy Game Pass pick for a group of friends.

If you already use Game Pass, the end of October and early December look particularly good because several of these games arrive through the service. If you prefer buying individual releases, Modern Warfare 4 and GTA VI are the two obvious big-ticket choices.

Release dates can still change, especially further out on the calendar, so it is worth checking the latest information before launch.
