1. When was Marvel’s Wolverine released?

Marvel’s Wolverine was released on September 15, 2026 for PlayStation 5.

2. What platforms is Marvel’s Wolverine available on?

Marvel’s Wolverine is available on PlayStation 5. It is also PS5 Pro Enhanced.

3. Is Marvel’s Wolverine coming to PC or PS4?

There is no PS4 version. Marvel’s Wolverine was developed specifically for PS5 hardware. As of September 15, 2026, no PC version has been officially announced.

4. Is Marvel’s Wolverine open-world, what type of game is it, and does it have multiplayer or co-op?

Marvel’s Wolverine is a single-player, narrative-driven third-person action-adventure. It is not open world and does not have multiplayer or co-op.

Compared with Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, it is a more focused adventure built around close-range combat, exploration, cinematic set pieces, and individual story missions rather than a large open-world city full of activities.

5. Who developed Marvel’s Wolverine?

Marvel’s Wolverine was developed by Insomniac Games, the studio behind Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The project was created in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

6. Is Marvel’s Wolverine connected to Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man games?

Yes. Marvel’s Wolverine takes place on Earth-1048, the same universe as Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man games.

However, Wolverine tells its own standalone story, so you do not need to play Spider-Man, Miles Morales, or Spider-Man 2 before starting Logan’s adventure.

7. What is the starting premise of Marvel’s Wolverine?

Three years after walking away from Team X, Logan believes his days as Wolverine are behind him. That changes when Bolivar Trask begins kidnapping mutants, pulling Logan back into action and forcing him to reconnect with other mutants.

That is about as much as you need to know before playing. The game has plenty more to reveal about Logan and his past, so we will leave the later story developments alone.

8. Which Marvel characters and villains appear in Marvel’s Wolverine?

Official footage has shown characters including Jean Grey, Sabretooth, Mystique, Omega Red, Lady Deathstrike, and Bolivar Trask, alongside several smaller Marvel appearances.

A first playthrough should take roughly 12 to 18 hours depending on difficulty, exploration, and optional content, with around 15 hours being a common figure among launch reviews. A more thorough completionist run can push beyond 20 hours.

Those figures are based on published review playthroughs rather than an official completion time from Insomniac, so your mileage may vary.

11. Why is Marvel’s Wolverine rated M for Mature?

Marvel’s Wolverine is rated M for Mature by the ESRB for Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, and Strong Language.

This is a deliberately more violent Marvel game than Insomniac’s Spider-Man titles. Players can, however, adjust certain violence and language settings, including the presentation of blood and dismemberment.
