Aniimo is almost here.
Pawprint Studio’s free-to-play creature-catching RPG launches on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox on September 16, 2026, with servers opening simultaneously across its three main regions.
The important detail is that players in North America may technically begin playing on September 15 because of time-zone differences. The mobile version arrives separately on September 23.

When Does Aniimo Release?
Aniimo officially launches on September 16, 2026, on Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
Pawprint Studio has scheduled the launch for 10:00 AM UTC+8, which translates to 02:00 UTC. Rather than rolling the game out gradually across different countries, the announced server schedule lines up around the same global launch window.
That also explains why some storefronts can display September 15 rather than September 16. Steam, for example, may show a September 15 release depending on your region because the servers become available during the evening in North America.
Aniimo Release Times by Region
Pawprint Studio has published separate opening times for the America, Europe and APAC servers.
| Region | Official Server Time | Local Example |
|---|---|---|
| America | September 15, 22:00 UTC-4 | 10:00 PM EDT / 7:00 PM PDT |
| Europe | September 16, 02:00 UTC | 4:00 AM CEST / 3:00 AM BST |
| APAC | September 16, 10:00 UTC+8 | 10:00 AM UTC+8 |
In other words, there is no meaningful advantage to switching regions just to start earlier. The published times point toward the servers opening at the same moment globally.
Which Platforms Is Aniimo Coming To?
At launch, Aniimo will be playable on:
- Windows PC
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- Xbox Cloud Gaming
The Xbox version is optimized for Series X|S and supports Xbox Play Anywhere, while the PC version is also listed on Steam.
Xbox Cloud Gaming support gives Microsoft players another option if they do not want to install the full client locally, although cloud availability and playtime can depend on the player’s Microsoft account and subscription status.
Can You Preload Aniimo?
Yes. Aniimo pre-download opened on September 14.
PC players can download the current client ahead of launch, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox users who purchased one of the pre-order packs can also install the console version before the servers open.
Storage to Prepare
- PC: Have at least 40 GB of free storage available.
- PS5 / Xbox: Prepare approximately 30–35 GB of free space.
- PC recommendation: Pawprint Studio recommends installing the game on an SSD.
Players who still have a client installed from one of Aniimo’s previous tests will need the new launch version. The developer says older test clients can no longer be used.
When Does Aniimo Launch on Mobile?
Mobile players have to wait slightly longer.
Aniimo launches on mobile on September 23, 2026, one week after the PC and console release.
That staggered schedule means the first week of the global launch will be focused on PC, PS5 and Xbox players before Android and iOS join the ecosystem.
Does Aniimo Support Cross-Progression?
Yes, but there is an important limitation.
Pawprint Studio says game progress is shared across PC, console and mobile as long as you are playing on the same server. Progress stored on different regional servers is independent.
Console players should pay particular attention when linking an existing Aniimo Pass account. On PlayStation 5, the server is automatically determined by the region registered to the PSN account. If you already created progress elsewhere, make sure the regional server matches before completing the account-linking process.
This matters more than it may initially seem. Choosing a different server just because of ping, friends or account region can separate that character’s progression from a character created on another server.
Is Aniimo Free to Play?
Yes. The base version of Aniimo is free-to-play.
The paid packs currently shown on console storefronts should not be confused with the price of the game itself. Those packages include additional in-game rewards and passes, while the base game becomes available without an upfront purchase when Aniimo officially launches.
Aniimo also contains optional in-game purchases. We will break down exactly how its monetization works separately, including what you can spend money on and how its systems differ from traditional character-gacha games.
What to Know Before the Servers Open
Aniimo arrives in a crowded creature-collecting space, but its pitch is not simply “another Pokémon-like.” The game combines open-world exploration with real-time combat, creature catching and a system called Twining, which lets the player directly connect with Aniimo and use their abilities while exploring.
Creatures can appear under different environmental, weather and time-of-day conditions, and many of them can evolve. The game also includes PvE, competitive activities and multiplayer elements.
The real test begins once the servers are live. Launch-day stability, progression pacing, monetization and the depth of its creature systems will determine whether Aniimo can turn its strong pre-release interest into a lasting player base.
Aniimo launches on PC, PS5 and Xbox at 02:00 UTC on September 16.
North American players can technically start on the evening of September 15, while the mobile release follows on September 23.
