Take full control over your BioShock Infinite playthrough with these handy cheats.

TL;DR — BioShock Infinite Cheats
  • No built-in console commands or debug mode.
  • Cheating requires third-party tools like Cheat Engine or a trainer.
  • Common cheats include unlimited health, super speed, and infinite silver.
  • Trainers may cause bugs, crashes, or progression issues.

Why Would You Cheat in BioShock Infinite?

Players cheat in video games for a variety of reasons. Some players simply enjoy the unlimited power that comes with cheats. Others use them as a shortcut to progress the game further when they’re stuck at a particularly challenging part that they can’t beat the normal way. Others use them to explore the game’s world in hopes of finding secret rooms or other places or items they may have missed during their playthrough.

BioShock Infinite can be a challenging game, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that some people may want to resort to cheating to get through certain parts of the game. It’s a fast-paced action title that requires good reflexes and precise aiming, as well as proper resource management, as the ammo in BioShock Infinite is not unlimited.

Other than cool, shooter-oriented gameplay, the game features a pretty good story with interesting twists; you may want to experience it fully, but if the game is too difficult, there’s no other way to progress further than to cheat.

How to Enable Cheats in BioShock Infinite

When a game allows players to cheat, it often does so via the command console, where players can enter and activate various codes. The console can be accessed by pressing a certain key on the keyboard, usually the tilde (~) key. Sometimes the console needs to be activated first, which requires making some changes in the game files. Other games may even allow players to press a sequence of keys at any time during play – no console needed.

Unfortunately, BioShock Infinite debug mode is not a thing. There are no BioShock Infinite console commands either. The game simply doesn’t allow players to cheat the usual way.

There are other options, though, but they require jumping through some extra hoops.

The two most common ways to cheat in BioShock Infinite include cheating via the third-party Cheat Engine software or a trainer app. Cheat Engine gives more freedom and possibilities, as it can be used to modify virtually any variable in the game. It’s more difficult to use by inexperienced players, though, in which case using a trainer is highly recommended instead.

To start using cheats in BioShock Infinite, download the trainer, install it, and launch it.

Useful BioShock Infinite Cheats

The trainer comes with a variety of basic but very useful cheats, such as unlimited health, super speed, and unlimited silver, which should help you get through any challenge the game has to offer. This way, you’ll be able to progress the story even if you find yourself stuck at a particularly difficult sequence that you couldn’t beat otherwise.

Cheat TypeWhat It Does
Unlimited HealthPrevents Booker from dying.
Unlimited SilverGives access to unlimited currency for upgrades.
Super SpeedIncreases movement speed significantly.

Are BioShock Cheats Compatible with Mods?

The trainer may cause issues with the game if you’re using mods. It’s not recommended to use the trainer with other mods enabled, as it may potentially lead to crashes and other bugs. If you still want to try, just keep that in mind.

Possible Issues with Cheats

Using external software, such as trainers, to cheat in video games always comes with a risk. Trainers are usually made by other players, not the developers, so they’re not guaranteed to always work. If things go wrong, in the worst-case scenario, they can cause some unwanted side effects, such as crashes and game-breaking glitches that may even force you to reinstall the game. Best-case scenario, the trainer simply won’t work.

The mentioned trainer is designed to work with the Steam version of BioShock Infinite. If you have a different version, the trainer may work incorrectly or not work at all.

There’s a known issue with the Possession ability; there’s a high chance that the ability won’t work with the trainer enabled, and there’s no workaround. Unfortunately, you’ll have to live without it. It’s an issue with trainers in general, not this specific one.

There’s also a visual bug with the salt bar, which will appear empty. It’s only a visual bug, though, and you should be able to use your abilities as usual. Sometimes the salt bar may also appear bigger than usual – reloading the game should help.

You may also stumble upon a game-breaking bug in the Comstock Center Rooftop part of the game, where you have to collect infusion bottles. With cheats enabled, your infusions are already maxed, preventing you from picking up the bottles and progressing the quest. To get around this, re-launch the game without the trainer and pick up the bottles. You can turn the trainer back on afterward.

Conclusion

Cheating in BioShock Infinite is not possible by default, but there are other options. Passionate members of the community often come up with new ways to alter the vanilla experience of video games, which includes creating cheating software, such as trainers. Using a trainer for BioShock Infinite grants you access to options that otherwise don’t exist, such as cheats for infinite health and money. Use them to get through a difficult boss or go on a trigger-happy killing spree. The power is in your hands.
