Favors are one of the most important long-term build choices in the Star Wars: Galactic Racer Campaign. You choose up to three before starting a Tour, and unlike temporary Parts or mid-run rewards, they define the rules your whole run gets to play with: more Part slots, extra Crash allowance, better Sidebet payouts, League Token protection, stronger reward packs, cheaper repairs, or entirely different ways of building your economy.
There are 20 Favors to unlock. Most start at Level 1 and improve twice as you keep racing with them equipped. Complete two planets with a Level 1 Favor to reach Level 2, then complete four more planets with Level 2 equipped to reach Level 3. Progress already earned toward those upgrades carries between Tours.
Quick answer: You can equip three Favors per Tour. Unlock them through Campaign progress, Field Tests, Backers, Rival Head-to-Heads, Tales of Podracing, Scrap Dealers, and Mystery Encounter chains. There is no universal best trio: use your three slots to reinforce the build you already like, then spend any remaining slot covering the problem that keeps ending your Tours.

How to unlock every Favor in Galactic Racer
Favor unlocks come from several different Campaign systems. Field Test totals persist between Tours, while Backer, Rival, and Mystery Encounter unlocks require you to deliberately follow the relevant character or route. A newly earned Favor becomes available for a later Tour rather than changing the current loadout halfway through.
Clandestine Aid
Complete Act I: The Qualifier and reach Act II. Darius Pax then grants the Favor. Note that Clandestine Aid cannot be equipped in Act III.
Mad Genius
Available during Act I. Progress through the opening planets and talk to Hibi. Current guides place the trigger around reaching Ando Prime / completing the first two Act I planets.
Gadgeteer
Complete 6 Time Trial Field Tests from Hibi. These can start appearing in Act I, and the total persists across Tours.
Feet First
Complete Sebulba’s first Tales of Podracing event. Tales become part of the Campaign from Act II.
Old Greats
Complete all 12 Tales of Podracing events. Finishing the entire chain takes Campaign progression into Act III.
Team Vranki
From Act II, choose the Hutt as your Backer and reach Derven Acos with a Satisfactory or better rating.
Deeper Pockets
From Act II, choose the Broker as your Backer and reach Derven Acos with a Satisfactory or better rating.
Bloody Bounty
From Act II, choose the Pirate as your Backer and reach Derven Acos with a Satisfactory or better rating.
Preferred Customer
Buy 4 Parts in total from Scrap Dealers Ori and Per. This can be completed from Act I onward.
Smuggler’s Hope
Complete 6 Ramjet Field Tests from Soren Zaks. They can appear from Act I and the count persists between Tours.
Fan Club
Available from Act II. Keep placing Sidebets against Lyren Shok until the Head-to-Head Rival challenge appears, then beat him.
Racer Roulette
Follow Biddy Blas’s Mystery Encounter chain and accept all three escalating bets. The Favor unlocks when you accept the final wager.
Victorious Loser
Available from Act II. Repeatedly Sidebet against Griff Halloran, then beat him when his Head-to-Head challenge appears.
Unassuming Prodigy
Complete 2 Precision Field Tests from Goli and 02-R0. They can appear from Act I.
Silent Defiance
Available from Act III. Sidebet against Sen Fira until the Head-to-Head Rival race appears, then win it.
Underhanded Upperhand
Available after completing Act II. Follow Malis Vazosk’s Mystery Encounter chain and hire him for the required jobs until he offers the permanent arrangement.
Second Chance
Available after completing Act II. Accept Katja Mox’s handicap trials, complete the required planets under those restrictions, then finish her encounter chain.
Family Legacy
Available from Act II. Sidebet against Ary Quill until she challenges you to a Head-to-Head, then defeat her.
High Roller
Available from Act II. Keep taking Sidebets against Fola Kanjen, then win her Head-to-Head Rival race.
Brutal Calm
Complete 2 Battling Field Tests from Nik Skandaro. These can appear from Act I.
Best Favors for different Galactic Racer playstyles
You have three Favor slots per Tour, so there is rarely a reason to make all three solve exactly the same problem. Pick one that strongly supports your main approach, then use the other slots to cover a weakness, improve the economy, or simply add something useful that your Racer Style does not provide.
| If you like… | Favor to consider | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Building heavily around Parts | Gadgeteer | Extra Part slots let a good temporary build grow much further, while Level 3 also improves Hibi’s Shop selection. |
| Using Abilities as a major part of the build | Feet First | Early Ability Packs get the Ability side of a run online sooner, especially when your Racer Style does not already hand you the tools you want. |
| Aggressive Sidebet play | High Roller | It directly multiplies successful Sidebet income and becomes especially strong if you consistently beat the racers you wager against. |
| Clean racing and avoiding Crashes | Team Vranki | Every unused Crash becomes Credits, so clean driving is converted directly into Tour economy. |
| Survival and learning difficult tracks | Mad Genius | Extra Crash allowance gives you more room for mistakes without sacrificing the rest of your build. |
| Takedowns and physical racing | Brutal Calm | It turns repeated Takedowns into permanent Resilience improvements during the Tour. |
| Taking whatever rewards the Tour gives you and adapting | Bloody Bounty | More reward choices make it easier to find something that actually fits the vehicle, Racer Style, and Parts you already have. |
Do not read this as seven complete builds. Three Favor slots give you room to mix approaches. A Part-heavy Gadgeteer setup can still take Mad Genius as insurance. A Sidebet-focused High Roller run can use Racer Roulette for League Token upside and Underhanded Upperhand to make a rival easier to beat. A clean racer using Team Vranki can spend the final slots on something completely unrelated if it patches a weakness.

Three slots, one Tour, plenty of ways to break the rules
Favors get more interesting once you stop looking for a universal top three. Galactic Racer already asks you to adapt to different vehicles, planets, Parts, routes, and Rival pressure. Your Favor loadout should do the same.
Pick the Favor that best supports what you actually enjoy doing, use the second to reinforce it, and let the third solve whatever is currently making the Tour miserable. Sometimes that means an elegant three-part synergy. Sometimes it means bolting Mad Genius onto a beautifully optimized build because you keep introducing the vehicle to walls. Both are valid.
