Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind lets you customize difficulty far beyond Beginner, Standard, Proud and Critical through its Premium Menu. EZ Codes can give Sora regenerating HP, free abilities, one-hit kills and other powerful advantages, while PRO Codes do the opposite by removing Cure, Formchanges, items, defense and other tools. They are not just cheats and challenge modifiers either: both systems have their own Merits and achievements.
The Premium Menu is part of Re Mind, which is already included with the modern Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind releases and with KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III]. If you are starting Kingdom Hearts III through the new collection, you therefore have access to these systems from the beginning of a new playthrough.
Quick answer: choose Easy Adventure during the Dive to the Heart to unlock EZ Codes, Challenging Adventure for PRO Codes, or Usual Adventure to play without the Premium Menu. Defeating Yozora later unlocks both menus on that save.

How to unlock EZ Codes and PRO Codes
You choose your initial Premium Menu during the opening Dive to the Heart, shortly after Sora makes the usual starting choices.
This choice is separate from the normal difficulty setting. You can therefore run EZ Codes on Critical or PRO Codes on Beginner if that is the kind of custom challenge you want.
Once unlocked, codes can normally be switched on and off from the Premium Menu outside combat. After defeating Yozora in the Secret Episode, both Premium Menu options become available on the current save regardless of your original selection.
Every Kingdom Hearts III EZ Code explained
EZ Codes are divided into Battle Codes and Support Codes. You do not have to turn them all on. The system works best when you pick only the conveniences or combat advantages you actually want.
Two important warnings: switching AP Free off removes the currently equipped abilities from your party, so you will need to equip them again. Gummi Ship Meister cannot be undone after activation, because it overwrites your previous Gummi inventory.
What are the best EZ Codes?
For a normal playthrough with fewer annoyances
If you still want combat to resemble normal Kingdom Hearts III, avoid Deadly Blow and use quality-of-life modifiers instead:
- Shop Discount for cheaper consumables and equipment.
- Cooking Master if you dislike the Little Chef minigames.
- Focus Regen if you want to use Shotlocks more freely.
- MP Regen for more frequent magic without trivializing every enemy.
- AP Free if you mainly want to experiment with Sora’s complete ability set.
For rushing through the story
Deadly Blow + HP Regen + MP Regen + AP Free turns most of the campaign into a very fast story run. Add Form Charge and Focus Regen if you also want constant access to Kingdom Hearts III’s flashier combat mechanics.
For farming and cleanup
Deadly Blow is particularly useful when clearing mobs, while Shop Discount and Cooking Master remove two common resource grinds. Gummi Ship Meister effectively skips the normal progression curve of the Gummi system, but remember that activating it permanently changes that save’s Gummi inventory.
EZ Code Merits and the All-rounder achievement
Unlocking EZ Codes also gives you a separate set of nine Merits. These are challenge objectives rather than normal story tasks, and completing all of them unlocks All-rounder.
Most of these are easier during endgame cleanup, when you already have high-level movement abilities, stronger Keyblades and access to Battlegates.
Every PRO Code explained
PRO Codes are designed for players who think ordinary Critical Mode still gives Sora too many advantages. Each modifier has a star rating that determines how valuable it is when scoring eligible boss fights.
Which PRO Codes should you use?
You do not need every PRO Code active for every fight. That is the most important thing to understand before starting a Challenging Adventure.
Easier points first
The least disruptive modifiers are generally:
- No Attractions
- No Team Attacks
- No Kupo Coins
- No Shotlocks, if you are comfortable fighting bosses without them.
These still increase your score without completely changing Sora’s basic survivability.
The brutal modifiers
Default Status, No Cure, Zero Defense, MP Slip and No Formchanges / Grand Magic have a much larger effect on difficult boss fights. Turning all of them on simultaneously is a completely different experience from ordinary Kingdom Hearts III, especially during the Limitcut data battles and Yozora.
Useful trick: stat boosts from permanent consumables, equipment bonuses and cuisine are not erased by Default Status. That makes Strength Boosts, Defense Boosts and strong meals particularly valuable in a PRO Code run.
How PRO Code Merit points work
PRO Codes have a scoring system instead of individual challenge objectives. Specific bosses award Merit Points based on which restrictions were active when the fight ended.
With every PRO Code enabled, the maximum available score across the base game, Re Mind, Limitcut and Secret Episode is 530,000 points. You do not need anywhere near the absolute maximum for the achievement.
The highest Merit Rank is Rank A at 364,125 points. Reaching it unlocks the Risk-taker achievement or trophy.
You can turn PRO Codes off between scoring fights
This is one of the biggest pieces of information the game does not make obvious enough. PRO Codes only matter for the bosses that actually award points. You can travel, grind, clear mobs and fight non-scoring encounters under normal rules, then enable the restrictions you want before a scoring boss.
For a dedicated Risk-taker run, a strong approach is to use New Game+, carry over powerful Keyblades such as Ultima Weapon and play on Beginner if you only care about the achievement. PRO Codes provide the challenge themselves, so there is no additional trophy requirement forcing you to combine them with Critical Mode.
Should you choose Easy, Challenging or Usual Adventure?
For someone playing Kingdom Hearts III for the first time through Collection [I–III] or INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE, Easy Adventure is actually a surprisingly flexible option. You can leave every code disabled and effectively play normally, then switch on individual conveniences if a mechanic starts getting in the way.

Kingdom Hearts III EZ and PRO Codes FAQ
Do you need Re Mind to use EZ and PRO Codes?
Yes. The Premium Menu was introduced with Re Mind. Modern Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind releases already include the expansion.
Can you change from EZ Codes to PRO Codes later?
Your opening choice determines which menu is initially available. Defeating Yozora in the Secret Episode unlocks both Premium Menu options on that save.
Do EZ Codes disable achievements?
Some achievements cannot be earned while relevant EZ Battle Codes are active. If you are trophy hunting outside the dedicated EZ Merit challenges, turn gameplay-altering codes off before completing important requirements.
Do you need every PRO Code active for Risk-taker?
No. Risk-taker requires Merit Rank A, which is reached at 364,125 points. The maximum possible score is 530,000, so you have significant room to disable difficult modifiers for selected bosses.
The Premium Menu is one of Re Mind’s best additions
EZ Codes and PRO Codes look like simple difficulty toggles, but together they make Kingdom Hearts III much more flexible.
A player interested mostly in the story can erase a lot of grinding and friction without changing the base difficulty. Someone replaying the game can experiment with unlimited AP and faster resources. And players who have already mastered Critical Mode can remove most of Sora’s strongest safety nets and turn the same bosses into completely different fights.
