The Ultima Weapon is Sora’s ultimate Keyblade in KINGDOM HEARTS III, but crafting it means completing one of the game’s biggest endgame scavenger hunts. The recipe requires all seven pieces of Orichalcum+ in the entire game, and several of them are locked behind minigames, Lucky Emblems, Gummi Ship combat and other completionist challenges.
Unlike ordinary synthesis materials, Orichalcum+ cannot simply be farmed from enemies. There are exactly seven obtainable pieces, which is also exactly how many the Ultima Weapon recipe requires. Miss one activity and you cannot craft it.
Quick answer: unlock the Ultima Weapon recipe by registering 58 different synthesis materials, then collect 7 Orichalcum+, 2 Wellspring Crystals, 2 Lucid Crystals and 2 Pulsing Crystals.

How to unlock the Ultima Weapon recipe
You cannot synthesize Ultima Weapon immediately after reaching a Moogle Shop. The recipe itself is part of the Workshop’s Collector’s Goals.
To unlock it, register 58 different synthesis materials. You do not need 58 materials in your inventory simultaneously. The Workshop simply needs to have recorded 58 unique material types over the course of the game.
The three regular Crystal types are replaceable and farmable. Orichalcum+ is the real progression gate.
All 7 Orichalcum+ locations in KINGDOM HEARTS III
Every Orichalcum+ comes from a different activity. There are no extras, so Ultima Weapon effectively doubles as a checklist for several of KINGDOM HEARTS III’s major side systems.
Orichalcum+ #1: The Final World
One of the easiest pieces is found in a treasure chest in The Final World.
You reach this area naturally near the end of the main story. Check the area around the teleport crystal rather than rushing straight through the story sequence. The Orichalcum+ is sitting inside the area’s treasure chest.
If you have already progressed beyond this section, you can return later rather than permanently losing the material.
Difficulty: very easy. The only real requirement is reaching the late-game story.
Orichalcum+ #2: Exile Island in The Caribbean
The second straightforward piece is hidden in The Caribbean.
Take the Leviathan out onto the sea and travel to Exile Island, located west of the central part of the Caribbean sea chart. Dock nearby, head inland and search the center of the small island.
The treasure chest contains another Orichalcum+.
Orichalcum+ #3: Photograph 80 Lucky Emblems
KINGDOM HEARTS III contains 90 Lucky Emblems, the Mickey-shaped symbols hidden across its worlds.
You do not need all 90 for Ultima Weapon. Photograph 80 Lucky Emblems with the Gummiphone and the Orichalcum+ is awarded automatically as a collection reward.
Do not leave all 80 until the end
The easiest approach is to photograph obvious Lucky Emblems during the main story. Then, once you decide to craft Ultima Weapon, you only need to clean up the ones you missed rather than revisiting every world from scratch.
Lucky Emblems are also worth collecting beyond this single material because they contribute to several broader completion rewards.
Orichalcum+ #4: Beat all Flantastic Seven high scores
The Flantastic Seven are seven special Flan Heartless that appear across previously completed worlds.
Each one starts a different minigame. Simply completing each challenge is not enough for the Orichalcum+. You need to hit the high-score reward threshold for every Flan.
You will know you achieved the proper result when the Flan gives you its top-tier reward rather than the basic participation reward.
The seven Flantastic Seven worlds
- Olympus
- Toy Box
- Kingdom of Corona
- Monstropolis
- Arendelle
- The Caribbean
- San Fransokyo
Once all seven challenges have been cleared at the required level, you receive the Orichalcum+.
Orichalcum+ #5: Collect all 10 Frozen Slider treasures
Return to Arendelle after completing its main story and use the Frozen Slider minigame accessed from the Mountain Ridge area.
The course contains 10 special treasure prizes. Because the route branches in several directions, you cannot realistically pick all of them up during a single run.
Important: finish the course after collecting a treasure. Abandoning or restarting the run before reaching the results screen can prevent that treasure from being registered.
Fortunately, progress carries across runs. You only need to collect each unique treasure once, finish the corresponding runs successfully and eventually complete the set of 10.
Orichalcum+ #6: Defeat Omega Machina
The Gummi Ship provides one of the harder pieces.
Travel to The Eclipse, the final major Gummi Ship region. Around the enormous central structure are five high-level enemy encounters. You need to clear all five before the real target becomes available.
One of these encounters is easy to miss because it is located underneath the central structure rather than around its obvious sides.
Once all five have been destroyed, Omega Machina appears at the top of the structure. Defeat it and the Orichalcum+ is awarded after the battle.
Upgrade your Gummi Ship first
Omega Machina is substantially more demanding than routine Gummi Ship encounters. Increase your ship’s firepower and durability rather than attempting the fight with an early-game design simply because it survived the main routes.
Repair options can also make the encounter considerably more forgiving.
Orichalcum+ #7: Win it from a Twilight Town Prize Postcard
The final Orichalcum+ is the only one involving random chance.
Shopping at Moogle Shops can occasionally award Prize Postcards. Take them to the mailbox beside the Moogle Shop in Twilight Town and mail them for a random prize.
One possible reward is Orichalcum+.
Save before mailing your postcards
Because the mailbox reward is random, save your game before turning in a postcard if this is the last Orichalcum+ you need. If the reward is something else, reload the save and try again.
The Orichalcum+ reward itself is one-time only, so you cannot use the postcard system to farm additional copies.
How to get Wellspring, Lucid and Pulsing Crystals
Once all seven Orichalcum+ pieces are collected, the rest of the recipe is much easier.
Wellspring Crystal
Wellspring Crystals can be dropped by high-level enemies. If you are already in the postgame, Battlegate 12 in San Fransokyo is a convenient place to farm them.
Lucid Crystal
Lucid Crystals can be obtained from late-game enemies and can also be synthesized once the appropriate Workshop recipe is unlocked.
Pulsing Crystal
Pulsing Crystals are likewise available from late-game synthesis and enemy drops. By the time you have finished the seven Orichalcum+ objectives, there is a good chance you will already have most of the supporting recipe materials.
Do not confuse Orichalcum with Orichalcum+. Regular Orichalcum is a separate synthesis material and cannot substitute for any of the seven Orichalcum+ pieces in the Ultima Weapon recipe.
The fastest way to get Ultima Weapon
There is no need to tackle the seven requirements in the order listed above. A more efficient approach is to make progress during the story and leave the dedicated challenges for the end.
- Photograph Lucky Emblems as you play. Getting most of the 80 naturally saves a huge cleanup session later.
- Open the Caribbean chest when exploring Exile Island.
- Grab the Final World chest when the story takes you there.
- Use Prize Postcards whenever convenient, or save them for a dedicated reload session.
- Return for the Flantastic Seven after completing their worlds.
- Finish the Frozen Slider treasure hunt.
- Upgrade your Gummi Ship and defeat Omega Machina.

KINGDOM HEARTS III Ultima Weapon FAQ
How many Orichalcum+ are in KINGDOM HEARTS III?
There are exactly seven Orichalcum+ pieces, and the Ultima Weapon recipe requires all seven.
Can you farm Orichalcum+?
No. Each Orichalcum+ comes from a specific one-time reward or activity. Ordinary Orichalcum is farmable separately but does not count toward the Ultima Weapon recipe.
Do I need all 90 Lucky Emblems for Ultima Weapon?
No. Ultima Weapon only requires the Orichalcum+ reward for photographing 80 Lucky Emblems.
Do I need to collect all Frozen Slider treasures in one run?
No. The 10 treasures can be collected across multiple runs. Make sure you finish the course after collecting a new treasure so the game records it.
Is Ultima Weapon required for Re Mind?
No. You can complete the main story and Re Mind without it. Ultima Weapon is primarily an endgame and completionist reward, although its power makes difficult optional battles considerably easier.
Seven materials between Sora and Ultima Weapon
Ultima Weapon is less about grinding one enemy and more about proving that you have explored almost every major side system in KINGDOM HEARTS III.
Lucky Emblems test exploration. Frozen Slider and the Flantastic Seven test minigame completion. Omega Machina tests your Gummi Ship. The Caribbean and Final World reward exploration, while the Prize Postcard introduces one final bit of luck.
Collect all seven, return to a Moogle Workshop with the remaining Crystals and synthesize the Keyblade. If you are heading into Re Mind or the game’s hardest optional encounters afterward, there are much worse ways to prepare.
