Tips – the best practices
While the option of using cheats from the very beginning of your RimWorld adventure may seem tempting, we highly recommend playing the game without them at least once. This way, you’ll have a chance to enjoy the standard RimWorld experience and learn how to change it in the future.
Also, know that cheats can be a bit addictive! Once you introduce them into your gameplay, you might not want to play without them. Therefore, start by using only a few essentials before fully immersing yourself in their exciting possibilities.
Mods – Compatibility with Modding
Since console commands are compatible with mods, you can boost your experience using both methods. The only thing you should keep in mind when installing mods is that some of them may no longer be up-to-date – that’s the only situation where they can interfere with cheats and the entire game.
If you own the game on Steam, installing mods is as easy as pie! Head to the RimWorld page on Steam, open the Workshop, and search for mods. Then, click Subscribe on the mod page to install it in your game. Once you’ve selected the mods you’re most interested in, launch the game, go to the main menu, click mods, and tick the box next to the mod you want to run.
Warnings – Avoiding Bugs
Although developers fix reported bugs, some cheat code combinations can cause strange game behavior or crashes. Sometimes, using a massive number of console commands simultaneously can also cause unexpected issues. Therefore, always test them in a brand-new scenario or save your current game.
Summing it up
Console commands are an exciting solution for players who have already played the game or find it a bit too challenging. When paired with the right mods, they can create an entirely fresh experience. Don’t be afraid to test them – after all, video games (and cheat codes) are all about having fun!
