We’re just hours away from dropping into Jurassic World Evolution 3 (JWE3), and Frontier went all-in with the new features. If you played the first two games, you already know the grind, but this time, the formula really moved forward.

Forget just plopping down fences and hoping for the best. The level of detail and customization this time is a big improvement.

We know the release date is October 21st, and it is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. Here are seven major new systems you should know about before launch.

1. Baby Dinos Are Finally Here, And They’re Smart

This is the feature players have been asking for since 2018: juvenile life stages. These are not just smaller versions of the adults. Frontier used fossil records to design them with accurate size, posture, animations, and behavior.

For example, adult Psittacosaurus walk on two legs, but juveniles move on all fours. They also come with unique AI. Baby dinosaurs stick close to their parents, and adults focus more on raising their young and keeping them safe.

2. Park Building Just Went Next Level: Modular Construction And Full Terraforming

JWE3 gives you full terrain control. Want a valley for a peaceful herbivore zone? Dig it out. Need a cliffside for nesting pterosaurs? Carve it. Sculpt waterfalls, mountains, tiered zones, or flat spaces with full freedom.

Even bigger than terraforming is the new modular building system. Just like in Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster, you can build everything from scratch using individual pieces. Resize, recolor, and combine walls, roofs, glass, and decorations to build whatever structure you want. For those who prefer pre-made assets, those are still available.

3. Infinite Sandbox Fun With The Island Generator

Sandbox mode is getting a major upgrade. The new Island Generator tool lets you create custom maps from scratch. You control the size, water, elevation, trees, and terrain shape with sliders.

Each island generates a unique DNA code. Share your code with friends and they can recreate the same map. Or use theirs to try something new. You can also use monorails and Hyperloop connections to link your custom islands together.

4. The Dino Roster: Bigger, Smarter, And More Varied

JWE3 includes over 80 species of dinosaurs. While not all JWE2 DLC species may return, the added depth makes up for it.

New to the series is dimorphism. That means male and female dinos will look different. For instance, male pterosaurs have bigger and more colorful tail crests.

You can also clone or crossbreed dinosaurs. Crossbreeding lets you pass traits and stats between different species, including visual features. Juveniles inherit these traits, making your breeding choices more strategic.

5. Cruise Control And New Guest Experiences

Several new attractions are coming. The Balloon Tour and Dinosaur Encounter are confirmed, but the standout is the Cretaceous Cruise.

This new river ride lets players build custom water paths using the terrain tools. Guests ride in kayaks through enclosures. In first-person mode, you can control the kayak yourself and view the park like a visitor.

6. Frontier Workshop: Share The Chaos

With all the new building systems and island creation tools, sharing your parks matters more than ever. The Frontier Workshop lets you upload entire parks for others to download and explore.

This tool supports cross-play. PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series players can all share and access creations. It does not matter which platform you use.

Expect to see creative layouts, complex buildings, and some wild ideas from the community as soon as the Workshop goes live.

7. The Global Campaign And Faction Politics

JWE3’s campaign picks up after Jurassic World Evolution 2 and moves closer to the timeline of Jurassic World Dominion. Dinosaurs now live worldwide, and players manage parks in ten global locations.

New areas include Japan, Hawaii, and Papua New Guinea. Each biome brings unique challenges tied to weather, terrain, and guest expectations.

Three main factions, Conservation, Entertainment, and Security, compete for your support. Each gives missions, has demands, and may disagree with your decisions.

JWE3 looks like a true step forward. With smarter dinosaurs, deeper systems, and player creativity fully supported, this could be the best version of the series yet.
