Running a Weed Farm in GTA Online is a straightforward way to bring in steady income through your Motorcycle Club.

This guide walks through everything you need how to get started, keep production going, upgrade efficiently, and make the most from each sale. Whether you’re testing the waters or growing your empire, here’s how to make it pay off.

Step 1: Get a Clubhouse

You can’t run any MC business without a Clubhouse. Head to the Maze Bank Foreclosures site and pick one up. Prices vary by location, but functionally, all Clubhouses are the same. You don’t need the most expensive one, just pick a spot that fits your map routine.

Once you’ve bought it, walk inside and use the interaction menu to register as an MC President. That unlocks the laptop at your Clubhouse, which is how you’ll access “The Open Road” and start managing your businesses.

Step 2: Buy the Farm

In The Open Road menu, choose “Buy Business” and select “Weed.” There are four locations:

  • San Chianski Mountain Range ($715,000)
  • Mount Chiliad ($805,000)
  • Elysian Island ($1,072,500)
  • Downtown Vinewood ($1,358,000)

All locations operate the same way. The main difference is price and distance from key areas. San Chianski offers good value and fast routes. Downtown Vinewood costs more but is close to other assets.

Step 3: Complete the Setup Mission

Once you own the farm, visit the location. It will be empty at first. Use the laptop inside to start the setup mission. You’ll usually have to retrieve a van with equipment. After bringing it back, production begins.

Soon after, workers arrive. You’ll see two bars on your laptop: Supplies and Product. Supplies are used to generate product. If supplies run out, production stops.

Step 4: Keep Supplies Stocked

To keep your farm running, refill supplies regularly. You can:

  • Buy them for $15,000 per unit or $75,000 for a full bar. Fast but costly.
  • Steal them through missions. Free, but slower. Each run adds one or two units.

With both Equipment and Staff upgrades, it takes about 5 to 6 hours of real time to fill the product bar. Without upgrades, expect slower results.

If you’re logging off for a while, pause the business to avoid raids and wasted time.

Step 5: Invest in Upgrades

Go to your farm’s laptop and grab the upgrades when you can afford them:

  • Equipment Upgrade ($990,000): speeds up production and increases value per unit
  • Staff Upgrade ($273,000): makes supply use more efficient
  • Security Upgrade ($313,500): reduces chance of police or gang raids

Prioritize Equipment and Staff. Security can wait unless you’ve had problems with raids..

Step 6: Sell at the Right Time

Check your product stock before selling. A full warehouse with upgrades nets $168,000. Sell to a faraway location and you’ll get a 50% bonus, for $252,000 total.

That bonus is tempting, but keep your playstyle in mind:

  • Solo players should avoid full sales. Stick to smaller deliveries under $84,000 to keep missions manageable with fewer delivery vehicles.
  • If your stock is slightly over half, switch lobbies before selling. You’ll lose a small amount of product, but reduce the delivery complexity.
  • Selling in public lobbies gives a 1% bonus per player in session, but you risk getting griefed. Safer to stick with private or invite-only sessions.

Other MC Businesses

Besides Weed, your Clubhouse lets you run other businesses:

  • Cocaine Lockup: highest returns
  • Meth Lab: strong profit
  • Counterfeit Cash: average profit
  • Document Forgery: low income, low effort

These operate like the Weed Farm. Later, link them to your Nightclub for automated income collection.

Tips That Matter

  • Grab the Equipment and Staff upgrades first as they’ll boost profits and save time
  • If you’re playing solo, keep sales small to avoid multi-vehicle missions
  • Assign Nightclub technicians to collect product so you don’t have to
  • Stick to private or invite-only lobbies to avoid random players messing with your runs
  • Let product build while you’re off doing other things like heists or missions

GTA 5: Is the Weed Farm Worth It?

The Weed Farm isn’t the highest earner, but it’s consistent and manageable. Total setup with upgrades is under $2 million. With steady operation, you’ll recover that and earn more.

Keep supplies moving, choose sales that match your playstyle, and expand your MC operations at a steady pace. It’s a practical way to earn consistent cash in GTA Online.
