Best Nightstar Sand Locations
There are two excellent places to gather Nightstar Sand, although one is considerably easier to access than the other.

The nearby Dessicated Dunes also contain additional Nightstar Sand, although the deposits are much more spread out. Once you’ve collected the nodes near the Watchtower, it’s usually more efficient to wait for them to respawn rather than searching the entire desert.
Feybreak Island
If you’re strong enough to survive Feybreak Island, you’ll find significantly more Nightstar Sand than anywhere else in the game.
The resource commonly appears along the island’s pale beaches before extending inland into grassy areas. During a single in-game night, it’s possible to collect well over 100 Nightstar Sand by following these glowing trails.
How to Farm Nightstar Sand Efficiently
The biggest mistake players make is searching during the daytime.
Nightstar Sand technically exists around the clock, but it’s extremely difficult to spot while the sun is up. After sunset, every deposit emits a faint glow that makes gathering far faster.
For the best results:
- Travel just before nightfall.
- Start from a nearby Fast Travel point.
- Collect every glowing deposit you see.
- Return on another night after the resource has respawned.
Can Pals Drop Nightstar Sand?
Yes.
Besides gathering deposits directly from the environment, you can also obtain Nightstar Sand by defeating or capturing Starryon Primo.
This white-and-gold Pal roams the World Tree region and has a chance to drop Nightstar Sand when defeated. While this isn’t as consistent as farming resource nodes, it provides an additional way to stock up if you’re already exploring the area.
