Pokémon Pokopia Keeps Growing
Pokémon Pokopia has been a very different kind of Pokémon game, and fans have clearly responded to it. The game has already sold through more than 4 million units, which makes it no surprise that the developers are continuing to build on it.

During the latest Nintendo Direct, a new free software update and a paid three-part expansion pass were announced, giving players more reasons to return to Pokopia through 2026 and beyond.
Pokémon Pokopia Free Underwater Update
The new trailer showed players exploring underwater areas in Pokémon Pokopia. This will be possible thanks to a new move called Dive, which players can unlock after completing the “Raise the Environment level” request in Bleak Beach.
To learn Dive, players will also need to already have the jump ability and the surf move available. Once Dive is unlocked, it will allow players to expand the reach of their town beneath the water.
Worth Knowing: The underwater update is free and is scheduled to arrive in August 2026.
Paid Expansion Pass Adds Three DLC Drops
Alongside the free update, Pokémon Pokopia is also getting a paid Expansion Pass split into three parts.
Part 1 introduces Bubbly Basin, a new town where players will be able to discover new furniture, outfits, and Pokémon. The Expansion Pass will be available on the eShop later today, while the first DLC drop is planned for August 2026.
Part 2 will bring additional features later in 2026. Part 3 will add another brand-new town in 2027.
