Welcome to G2A News Weekly Recap — our Friday roundup of the week’s biggest gaming headlines. Fast to skim, easy to share, and packed with the dates and details you actually care about.
TL;DR — G2A News Weekly Recap (This Week)
Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 is all about “More Siege, More Often.” Season 1 Operation Silent Hunt launches March 3 with Solid Snake joining the roster, plus Metal Gear-themed modes and cosmetics.
Ranked 3.0 stays a major focus across the year.
Slay the Spire 2 hits Steam Early Access on March 5, 2026 and confirms 4-player co-op with team-based cards and synergies. The sequel also brings new characters, cards, relics, events, alternate acts, and map drawing.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 launches August 27, 2026 — and the headline is huge:
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is finally coming to modern consoles as part of the collection.
Important tips: Siege players should bookmark March 3 and get ready for Ranked pacing changes in Year 11. Slay the Spire fans should wishlist now and plan co-op decks early (support + synergy builds will matter). Metal Gear fans: if you’ve never played MGS4 (or haven’t in years), Aug 27 is your “cinematic marathon” date.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 roadmap revealed — “More Siege, More Often”
Ubisoft showed the full Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 roadmap at the Six Invitational in Paris, and the message is pretty clear: this year is about tightening core systems while still dropping fresh content at a steady pace.
Think new Operators, map additions/returns, event throwbacks, and ongoing competitive improvements — all centered around Ranked 3.0.
Season 1: Operation Silent Hunt (launches March 3)
The headline is wild: Solid Snake joins the Siege roster alongside Zero. He’s described as a 1 health / 3 speed operator — fast, aggressive, and built for players who don’t make mistakes twice.
Season 1 also brings a Metal Gear-themed event with cosmetics, a limited-time 4v4 mode, and a separate 1v1 arcade playlist, plus some map modernization work.
Season 2: esports focus + map returns
Season 2 leans into competitive infrastructure with a revamped in-game esports tab to make following teams/events easier.
The big nostalgia hit: Calypso Casino from Rainbow Six Vegas returns — but the real question is whether it lands as a true competitive map or a historic fan-favorite.
There’s also a Dokkaebi remaster and a new primary weapon available to all players (a nice move for ranked integrity).
Season 3: “Firework” defender + shield counter plays
A new Defender codenamed Firework is designed to counter shield operators.
If the gadget truly pierces/disrupts shields as teased, it could force teams to rethink how they execute sites and how much they rely on shield-led pressure.
Season 4: teamplay tools + system experiments
Siege is at its best when squads communicate, so Season 4 adding a social hub aimed at coordination makes sense.
The Testing Grounds playlist becomes even more important, with Ubisoft trialing bigger gameplay shifts before pushing them live — including a “half reinforcements” style mechanic that could change defensive setups dramatically.
Ranked 3.0 stays the main storyline
Ubisoft is aiming to smooth round pacing, reduce “entry frag solves everything,” and rebalance roaming impact. For ranked grinders, this is the real content — because stability and consistency matter more than any cosmetic drop.
Slay the Spire 2: Early Access lands March 5, 2026 — and it has 4-player co-op
Mega Crit’s new animated trailer confirmed that Slay the Spire 2 launches in Steam Early Access on March 5, 2026.
The biggest reveal? 4-player co-op — not as a side mode, but as a core feature with dedicated team cards and synergies.
That’s a big deal because the original Spire was all about solo optimization — perfecting risk/reward, planning synergies, and building an engine that doesn’t collapse on Act 3. Co-op flips the strategy: inter-player combos, support builds, and coordinated deck roles could become the new meta.
What’s confirmed for Early Access
- New playable characters
- New cards
- New relics, potions, and abilities
- More events + alternate acts
- A teased unrevealed character
- Map drawing (yes, finally)
This was originally planned for late 2025, so the shift to March 2026 looks like a short delay for a bigger swing.
And with co-op in the mix, expect this game to explode on streaming platforms the moment Early Access goes live.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 confirmed for Aug 27, 2026 — MGS4 finally returns
Konami confirmed Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 launches on August 27, 2026, and the news fans have waited years for is finally here: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is coming to modern consoles as part of the collection. That alone makes this a major preservation moment for the franchise.
What’s included in Master Collection Vol. 2 (highlights)
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (plus screenplay book, master book, database)
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (collection + books/extras)
- Metal Gear Ghost Babel (bonus classic title)
- Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2
Bonus: Master Collection Vol. 1 gets a final “polish” update
Vol. 1 is getting its final update with higher-resolution options for the original Metal Gear Solid and enhanced visuals for Snake Eater. It’s basically Konami prepping Vol. 1 to look and feel “done” before Vol. 2 arrives.
Big picture: between remakes, collections, and collaborations, this looks like a full-on Metal Gear resurgence.
Nostalgia is great — but “MGS4 finally playable on modern hardware” is the real headline.
