Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a game that fans have been waiting 13 years for.

It is the sequel to the 2011’s game Space Marine, based on the well-known tabletop miniature wargame system Warhammer 40k, which has been around since the 1980s.

The game is set to release on September 9, 2024, and will be available simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Importantly, there are several Space Marine 2 editions, some of which allow early access to the title!

What are the different editions of Space Marine 2?

Like many titles released over the years, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 can be purchased in several versions.

The publishers have prepared both a budget-friendly Standard Edition for those interested only in the game itself, as well as expanded versions for fans of collectibles, in-game extras, and…early access! What are the Space Marine 2 Editions?

• Standard
• Gold
• Ultra
• Collector’s

The prices of the editions range from around $60-70 for the Standard version to $250 for the Collector’s Edition. For console releases, we can expect both digital and physical editions, but if you are a PC player and want a physical copy, it’s worth considering the Gold or Collector’s versions.

What does the Space Marine 2 Ultra Edition come with?

Before we dive into what the most interesting, in our opinion, Ultra Edition (which offers additional content at a reasonable price) includes, let’s briefly describe what you’ll find in other versions of the game.

• Standard Edition – Here you will get only the basic version of the game, either digital (code) or physical (disc), the latter if you are a PS5 or XSX/S console owner. Console players can, of course, also purchase the digital version.
• Gold Edition – Available in both digital and physical forms for everyone. It includes the base game and a Season Pass. Those who opt for the slightly more expensive physical version will also receive a collector’s Gold Steelbook.
• Collector’s Edition – This edition is the most expensive, but it’s also jam-packed with extras and gadgets. It is available, of course, exclusively in a physical version and includes the base game, a Season Pass, and the Ultramarine Champion Pack. The collectible items in this edition are: a Lieutenant Titus Statue, a Collector’s Edition Steelbook, and an Artbook featuring beautiful artwork.

So, what does the Ultra Edition include and why is it one of the most interesting options? Well, in this edition, you get everything in the Collector’s Edition, except for the physical gadgets, which means: the base game, the Season Pass, and the Ultramarine Champion Pack.

The price of this version is very similar to the one proposed by the publishers for the Gold Edition. So, if you’re not interested in collectibles, but want to get the most out of the selected version, opt for the Ultra Edition.
