The first week of September is wasting absolutely no time on Nintendo Switch 2.
From September 2 through September 4, the console gets six notable releases covering roguelites, co-op adventures, difficult action RPGs, anime fighting games, arcade beat ’em ups and Capcom’s return to Onimusha.
Moonlighter 2 starts things on Wednesday, Orbitals and Wo Long take over Thursday, and Friday closes the week with My Hero Academia, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Here is what is worth knowing before the downloads begin.
TL;DR – Nintendo Switch 2 releases this week
Table of Contents
If you want the bigger picture, our Nintendo Switch 2 September 2026 release calendar tracks the rest of the month’s games, including Fire Emblem, LEGO Batman, Dragon Quest XI S, Minecraft Dungeons II and The Witcher 3 Remastered.
September 2: Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault
ACTION RPG / ROGUELITE
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault brings Will back for another unusual combination of dungeon crawling and running a shop.
Expeditions send you into dangerous dimensions to fight monsters and recover increasingly valuable relics. Getting home safely is only half the job. You then decide how much that loot is worth, manage customers and reinvest your earnings into equipment, decorations and the development of Tresna.
The sequel keeps the risk-and-reward loop that made the original stand out, while moving the adventure into a fully 3D presentation. If you like roguelites but want progression that involves more than unlocking another weapon between runs, this is the week’s most obvious starting point.
September 3: Orbitals
SWITCH 2 EXCLUSIVE
2-PLAYER CO-OP
Orbitals is easily the most distinctive Switch 2 release this week.
Maki and Omura are two young explorers trying to save their home in a cooperative adventure deliberately styled after classic Japanese science-fiction anime. Every major challenge is designed around two players combining different tools and abilities.
The game supports local split-screen and online co-op, while GameShare and the Global Friend’s Pass make it easier to bring somebody else along without requiring two full purchases. If your Switch 2 mainly comes out when friends are around, Orbitals is the game to watch this week.
September 3: Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Complete Edition
COMPLETE EDITION
Team NINJA brings its dark take on Three Kingdoms China to Nintendo Switch 2 with the most complete version of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
The package contains the base action RPG and all three major DLC packs: Battle of Zhongyuan, Conqueror of Jiangdong and Upheaval in Jingxiang. That means additional scenarios, characters, weapons and Divine Beasts are included from the start.
Wo Long rewards aggression. Deflecting enemy attacks, breaking their Spirit and immediately counterattacking matters more than patiently circling enemies with a shield raised. Players coming from Nioh or Sekiro should feel at home quickly, although the morale system gives Wo Long its own progression rhythm.
September 4: MY HERO ACADEMIA: All’s Justice
3V3 ARENA FIGHTER
MY HERO ACADEMIA: All’s Justice arrives on Switch 2 with the series’ Final War at the center of its Story Mode.
Combat uses three-character teams, letting players switch between heroes and villains with very different Quirks. The roster includes characters in their latest and most powerful forms, while additional modes revisit earlier fights or let players experience U.A. training through Team Up Mission.
The Switch 2 version also supports online GameShare through GameChat, giving Nintendo’s edition its own multiplayer feature rather than simply being another platform conversion.
September 4: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants – Ninja Edition
SWITCH 2 NINJA EDITION
4-PLAYER LOCAL CO-OP
Wrath of the Mutants returns as a dedicated Ninja Edition for Switch 2. The arcade beat ’em up sends Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo through six stages and 13 boss encounters inspired by the 2012 animated series.
The Switch 2 version adds Master Splinter and Casey Jones as playable characters and upgrades the presentation with 60fps gameplay, HDR, faster loading, improved lighting and shadows, 1080p output in handheld mode and up to 4K while docked.
Four-player local co-op remains the main attraction. The digital version launches September 4, while the physical Switch 2 release follows on October 9.
September 4: Onimusha: Way of the Sword
CAPCOM
Capcom closes the week with the biggest new release of the bunch.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword casts legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi into a dark fantasy version of early Edo-period Kyoto, where the city has been overrun by the demonic Genma.
Combat revolves around aggressive sword clashes, deflections and using the Oni Gauntlet to absorb souls from defeated enemies. The Switch 2 version also offers optional Joy-Con 2 motion controls, while the footage Capcom has shown for Nintendo’s console comes directly from that version.
This is not simply a remaster of an older Onimusha. It is a completely new entry and Capcom’s attempt to bring the series back as a modern sword-focused action game.
What should you play first this week?
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the obvious pick if you want the biggest brand-new single-player game. Capcom is reviving a series that has been missing from the front line for years, and its focus on deliberate sword duels makes it stand apart from most modern action games.
Wo Long is the better choice if you already know you want something difficult and systems-heavy. The Complete Edition also gives you considerably more content immediately.
For something lighter, Moonlighter 2 has an addictive dungeon-shop loop, while Orbitals is the strongest co-op recommendation. My Hero Academia handles the anime-fighting crowd, and TMNT is the easiest game here to throw on when three other people are sitting on the couch.

Switch 2 starts September with no warm-up lap
The month has barely started and Switch 2 owners already have a difficult action RPG, a brand-new Capcom game, a co-op exclusive, an anime fighter, a roguelite sequel and four-player Turtle chaos competing for their time.
Onimusha and Wo Long will probably dominate the action conversation, but Orbitals and Moonlighter 2 give this first week much more variety than a simple list of big-budget ports.
And this is only the opening weekend. Fire Emblem, LEGO Batman, Dragon Quest XI S, Minecraft Dungeons II and The Witcher 3 Remastered are still waiting later in September.
