Gate Guard Simulator is an upcoming video game developed by Redox Interactive. In this medieval-themed job simulator, you’ll be role-playing as a town militia tasked with guarding the main city gate. Your main responsibilities will be related to deciding who should be allowed to enter the stronghold and who should be rejected.
Check the seals and entry permits, confirm the identity of those who wish to enter, check the cargo for contraband, and get rid of the witches and the diseased.
You’re responsible for the city’s most important layer of defense, so take your job seriously. If you fail to correctly evaluate the threat level, the consequences for the entire city may be tragic.
Decide Whether to Let People in or Not
As the gatekeeper, you’ll have to carefully examine each and every individual and decide if they should be allowed to enter. The times are rough and the safety measures are not to be taken lightly. The plague, the witches, and all kinds of evildoers will try to sneak in to stir up trouble.
Some are just a nuisance, but others may spell disaster if accidentally allowed into the city. If something goes wrong, you’ll be the one to blame and bear the consequences, so you’d better check that seal twice before you give it a green light.
Make Choices that Matter
Whatever you choose to do as the gate guard in this medieval simulator may yield different outcomes. Failing to fulfill your duty may result in lower pay – and that’s the least of your worries. In more severe cases, the safety of the entire stronghold will be put at risk.
On the other hand, if you think that you’re not earning enough for your honest work, you may choose to occasionally disobey the Lord’s laws and turn a blind eye to people attempting to commit crimes. Of course, only when there’s a bribe involved and it’s high enough to justify your irresponsible decision-making process.
You’ll need to use some strategy and find the right balance between mindlessly letting everyone in and making an exception when the situation calls for it.
The Types of Cases You’ll Be Dealing With
People will come up with all kinds of excuses to let them into the city and you’ll have to make the right call based on found evidence and your own intuition.
Examine carts loaded with hay, as they could serve as hiding spots for something – or someone. Use your halberd to stab the hay a few times and make sure there’s no one hidden inside. Who knows what you’ll find. Perhaps a wanted criminal or a scared goose? Keep poking until you’re sure the cargo is safe.
Make sure the seals and permits are valid and are not forged and actually belong to the person who showed them to you. It’s easy to sneak into the city if the guard is not paying attention to the documents – don’t let it be you.
Take a closer look at people’s faces and make sure you’re not dealing with a witch or someone who can spread disease in the city.
