It’s official – Helldivers 2 is getting a major content update on February 3. Siege Breakers Warbond introduces explosive breaching hammers, new heavy weapons and stratagems – and the trailer strongly hints at the return of a classic original Helldivers enemy.

Let’s take a closer look at the details of Helldivers 2 update.

Helldivers 2 Siege Breakers Update – What’s New?

The new update was announced by Arrowhead Game Studios and PlayStation via Steam and PlayStation Blog. The new content includes premium warbond with weapons and cosmetics that players can obtain using Super Credits. They can be purchased or gradually earned by completing specific in-game objectives.

Helldivers 2 – Siege Breakers Warbond

As usual, new equipment makes a huge impression, so let’s take a closer look at Helldivers 2 new weapons from the Siege Breakers Warbond:

  • CQC-20 Breaching Hammer – it features dual melee and explosive functionality, allowing players to strike enemies directly or detonate an explosive charge for massive damage
  • LAS-16 Trident – primary weapon, returns with six beams, devastating the enemies of Super Earth

Helldivers 2 update also introduces new exciting stratagems, which make heavy weapons even stronger:

  • GL-28 Grenade Launcher – fires a steady stream of explosives
  • EAT-411 Leveller – delivers a powerful rocket capable of massive damage
  • G/SH-39 Shield – a throwable, defensive shield creates a protective barrier that blocks heavy projectiles, giving you room to fight or regroup

There are also new armor sets:

  • SA-7 Headfirst
  • SA-8 RAM

They both come with a passive ability that restores strength after taking damage. The set also adds new cosmetics, emotes, and skins for the shuttle, exosuits, and hellpods.

It’s a packed update, and it’s hard not to be excited. These additions perfectly reinforce Helldiver’s 2 identity as a chaotic, co-op live service shooter where raw power and teamwork are essential. Those new weapons and stratagems push players to coordinate their actions, combine abilities, and embrace controlled destruction on the battlefield. What’s equally important is trusting your squad, managing shared resources and join forces to fight enemies.

Helldiver’s Cyborg Enemies Return?

The Siege Breakers trailer showcases new weapons and cosmetic items, but it also includes an intriguing tease right at the end. It hints at the possible return of the cyborg enemies known from Helldivers 1. For now, it’s unclear whether they will actually return or if they’ll be connected to the Automaton faction.

This reveal is especially significant for long-time fans, as it hints at the return of one of the most iconic enemy factions. If cyborgs do make a comeback, their inclusion could reshape the current faction landscape, either by expanding the Automaton ranks or introducing a new threat that changes how players approach conflicts, tactics and missions.

Arrowhead Studios Momentum

In recent months, Arrowhead Game Studios has built significant momentum with Helldivers 2 by strengthening the game’s technical foundation and addressing player complaints. One of the most notable improvements was a reduced PC install size, achieved without any changes to gameplay or player progress. The studio has also tackled frequent bugs and performance issues through ongoing patches and optimization.

The Siege Breakers Warbond is not just another content drop, but a key part of Helldivers 2’s evolving live-service roadmap, delivering new weapons alongside meaningful improvements. Community excitement continues to grow as fans eagerly await fresh content and future updates.

Beyond the game itself, a live-action Helldivers movie is currently in development, set to bring the defenders of Super Earth to the big screen.

Stay tuned for more Helldivers 2 updates and the upcoming Siege Breakers release.
