Survive the cursed rain, fix the tram, and watch your back – one of your teammates might be a perfect mimic. MIMESIS is now live in Early Access on Steam.

MIMESIS Early Access on Steam

MIMESIS, a co-op horror game with the addition of microphone gameplay, entered the Early Access stage on October 27, and now everyone can give this small yet ambitious indie gem a try.

Mimesis - Official Early Access Cinematic Launch Trailer

Team up with up to three other players and explore the unknown as you try to scavenge for materials and repair the tram. But beware of the dangers – the area you’re going into is haunted by mysterious and deadly beings that can perfectly mimic your teammates. Do you think you know your friends well enough to tell them apart from the mimics?

If you enjoyed games such as Lethal Company and Among Us, you’ll certainly like this one too.

Here’s what you need to know about MIMESIS.

About the Game – What Makes MIMESIS Special?

MIMESIS is an addictive online multiplayer survival horror game that puts emphasis on co-op play and serves as an interesting Lethal Company alternative.

Your main objective is to scavenge the area for materials so you can repair the tram and keep moving forward. Working together with your friends will make things much easier, but there’s a twist: mimics.

Mimesis - Official Gameplay Trailer #2

MIMESIS uses AI-powered systems in a beautifully creative way; computer-controlled enemies will try to take the place of your friends and trick you into thinking that you’re safe. The coolest part is that the enemies won’t only mimic the looks but also the sounds; yes, the enemies will steal your friends’ voices and will talk to you as if mimics were your friends.

The mimic system adds an extra layer of depth to the game, an unexpected twist – you’ll need to keep your guard up at all times, as you can never be absolutely sure that the person you’re talking to is who you think it is.

Because the game revolves around its voice-based systems, the microphone is mandatory.

MIMESIS Early Access VS. Full Release – What Will Change in the Future?

The developers are planning to keep MIMESIS in the Early Access stage for approximately 10 months, after which we can expect to get a proper release. Until then, developers want to test the game, add more content, polish the existing gameplay loop, and implement features requested by the community.

If you’d like to help in the development process, you can do so by reaching out to developers via the Steam Community page and their Discord channel; developers promise to take all feedback into account. Even if your idea doesn’t get a pass, you can be sure that, at the very least, it will be acknowledged.

It’s also worth noting that this is the best time to get the game; the developers announced that they’re planning to raise the price when the game is out of EA. If you want to save a few bucks, get the game now; it’s already in a playable state and offers a very enjoyable experience, especially if you’ve got some friends to play with.
