Hello Games has launched the Remnant update for No Man’s Sky on February 11, kicking off the game’s tenth anniversary year.
The update introduces fully customisable trucks and haulers, new waste processing and industrial hauling systems, and the Gravitino Coil gravity gun, effectively turning the space sandbox into a full physics playground.
What is No Man’s Sky Remnant update?
The Remnant patch marks the 39th update for the game and serves as a Breach expansion follow-up released in December.
The core theme of the update is industrial enterprise and scrap reclamation. Players gather salvage and debris, transport it using new vehicles, and process materials into rare resources at Waste Processing Plants.
No Man’s Sky Trucks and Hauling System
The Remnant update brings new vehicle types, including trucks, tipping flatbeds, and haulers, expanding the No Man’s Sky hauling system with deeper logistics and transport options. It also introduces vehicle customization system with visual upgrades, performance-focused mechanical parts, and heavy-duty variants built for industrial hauling.
The update also encourages creative builds, from spider-legged explorers and tank-track vehicles to heavy incinerator-style trucks designed for hazardous environments. These additions support a new salvage processing loop: explore hostile planets, salvage wreckage, load valuable cargo, transport it across dangerous terrain, and refine the materials for rewards.
The Gravitino Coil (Gravity Gun)
The No Man’s Sky Remnant update also introduces the Gravitino Coil module, a new anti-gravity multi-tool that allows players to lift, carry, and throw large objects. The No Man’s Sky gravity gun expands the game’s physics sandbox gameplay potential, letting players weaponize heavy debris and experiment with environmental manipulation, including deeper Sentinel combat interaction.
This expanded physics interaction system enhances emergent gameplay, encouraging experimentation and unscripted problem-solving across exploration and combat scenarios.
New Expedition and Rewards
Besides new customizable trucks and weapons, the Remnant update brings players a limited-time Expedition event. The event is meant for community and it’s focused on cleaning up a salvage-covered planet.
The rewards include dozens of vehicle parts and steampunk armour rewards, featuring a new armour set with padded fabrics and intricate, industrial-inspired detailing.
No Man’s Sky 10th anniversary
The Remnant update marks another step in the game’s live service space sim evolution, as Hello Games continues to expand systems and mechanics nearly a decade after launch. It also marks the beginning of the Hello Games 10th anniversary celebrations for No Man’s Sky.
It still stands as one of the most notable post-launch comeback stores. Since its launch, the studio has given many free updates and story’s content as part of long-term support model.
We are still yet to see a full anniversary roadmap, but there has already been speculation around future announcements – alongside the studio’s next project, Light No Fire. Some fans are now wondering whether a Light No Fire teaser could be part of the anniversary celebrations.
