PlayStation Plus Essential is getting four games in September 2026, and Sony has gone for variety rather than one obvious theme. The lineup includes tactical sniping, baseball, physics-driven co-op chaos, and a retro-inspired JRPG.
Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes will all be available to PlayStation Plus members from September 1 until October 5, 2026.

September’s PS Plus Essential Lineup Covers Just About Everything
There is no single theme tying September’s four games together, and that is probably the point.
Sniper Elite: Resistance brings slower tactical action, MLB The Show 26 handles sports, Wobbly Life is an easy-going multiplayer sandbox, and Chained Echoes fills the old-school RPG slot.
That makes September an unusually broad month. Whether you want a campaign, co-op, competitive multiplayer, sports progression, or a story-heavy RPG, there is at least one game here aimed directly at you.
Sniper Elite: Resistance | PS5, PS4

Sniper Elite: Resistance is the easiest headliner to identify. The tactical third-person shooter moves into occupied France with a story running parallel to Sniper Elite 5 and puts Harry Hawker at the center of the campaign.
The full campaign supports co-op, while Axis Invasion lets another player enter your game as an enemy sniper. Competitive multiplayer supports up to 16 players, and Survival allows teams of up to four to fight waves of enemies.
MLB The Show 26 | PS5

MLB The Show 26 is September’s sports pick. Road To The Show expands its amateur career path with additional college teams, while Diamond Dynasty returns with new card series and roster-building progression.
PlayStation Plus members also get access to the MLB The Show 26 Jump Start Bundle. It contains five The Show Packs, one Equipment Pack, and a Jumpstart Choice Pack. The bundle is available from September 1 until October 6.
Wobbly Life | PS5, PS4

Wobbly Life is the month’s co-op chaos option. The open-world physics sandbox can be played alone or with up to three other players through online multiplayer or local split-screen.
Jobs, story missions, mini-games, toys, puzzles, secrets, and interactive environments give groups plenty of excuses to get distracted. Arcade mode adds activities such as Hide & Seek, Wobble Run, Trash Zone, and Sandbox.
Chained Echoes | PS4
Chained Echoes is the quietest game in the lineup, but it could easily be the strongest pick for RPG fans. It is a single-player, story-driven JRPG inspired by the 16-bit era, with turn-based combat, exploration, character progression, and mechanical suits thrown into its fantasy setting.

The story follows a group travelling across Valandis in an attempt to end the war between three kingdoms. If you want something built around a complete campaign rather than ongoing multiplayer systems, this is September’s obvious choice.

Four Very Different Reasons to Check PS Plus This September
This is not a month built around one giant blockbuster. Instead, Sony has assembled four games that barely overlap. Sniper Elite: Resistance is for patient shooters, MLB The Show 26 covers sports, Wobbly Life works for co-op nights, and Chained Echoes gives single-player RPG fans something considerably more traditional.
Before September begins, remember to claim August’s Monthly Games by August 31. Then the new four take over on September 1.
