Most of September’s lineup becomes available on September 15, 2026, although Sony is staggering a few games throughout the month.
TL;DR: WWE 2K26 is the biggest established release, while RuneScape: Dragonwilds is arguably the most interesting addition because it joins PS Plus Extra and Premium on the same day its full 1.0 console version launches.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds | PS5

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the most notable day-one style addition in September’s Game Catalog.
Jagex’s survival RPG leaves Early Access and launches its full 1.0 version on September 15, which is also when PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers gain access on PS5.
Dragonwilds takes the RuneScape universe into open-world survival crafting. Players explore Ashenfall alone or in co-op with up to three friends, gathering resources, building shelters, developing skills and learning magic before eventually confronting the Dragon Queen.
The September launch also brings the game to consoles for the first time, with cross-platform multiplayer supported.

WWE 2K26 is September’s biggest established blockbuster.
Visual Concepts’ latest wrestling game features more than 400 playable Superstars and Legends, with names ranging from The Rock and Triple H to John Cena, Rhea Ripley and CM Punk.
This year’s Showcase revolves around CM Punk and reimagines major moments from his career, including fantasy scenarios built around what could have happened if he had never left WWE.
MyRISE, Universe, MyGM and MyFACTION also return alongside additional match types and roster updates.
Ball x Pit | PS5

Ball x Pit mixes roguelite progression with projectile-based combat and base rebuilding.
The city of Ballbylon has been destroyed, leaving a massive pit filled with monsters and treasure. Players descend through increasingly dangerous levels while developing magic-infused projectiles, collecting resources and recruiting additional heroes.
Unlike the main September 15 drop, Ball x Pit joins the catalog on September 22 in the US, UK and Japan.
Date Everything! | PS5

Date Everything! has probably the strangest pitch in September’s lineup.
Magical glasses called Dateviators turn ordinary household objects into characters you can talk to, befriend, annoy or romance. Each object has its own personality and storyline, backed by a large voice cast.
The game joined the catalog on September 9 in the US and UK, with Japan following on September 10.

Slitterhead | PS5, PS4
Available September 22. Slitterhead puts players in control of Hyoki, a bodiless entity hunting monsters that disguise themselves as humans in the neon streets of Kowlong.
Possession, blood-powered combat and switching between human hosts make this one of the month’s stranger action-horror additions.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound | PS5, PS4
Available September 29. Ragebound brings the series back to 2D action with a game from the team behind Blasphemous.
The story follows Kenji Mozu after Ryu Hayabusa leaves for America and a demonic invasion threatens Hayabusa Village. It combines the pace of classic Ninja Gaiden with systems inspired by the later 3D games.
Dungeons of Hinterberg | PS5, PS4
Available September 29. Dungeons of Hinterberg combines action RPG combat, puzzles, exploration and relationship-building in the Austrian Alps.
Luisa explores magical dungeons during the day and spends evenings building friendships with residents and other adventurers.
Sniper Elite: Resistance | PS5, PS4
Available September 29. Rebellion’s tactical shooter follows SOE agent Harry Hawker in occupied France, with a campaign running parallel to Sniper Elite 5.
The campaign supports co-op and offers multiple infiltration and extraction routes, Kill List targets and the series’ familiar long-range sniping mechanics.
Sniper Elite: Resistance is also one of the PlayStation Plus Essential games for September, so it is showing up across more than one PS Plus benefit this month.

Mega Man X Command Mission | PS5, PS4

Mega Man X Command Mission takes the Mega Man X universe into turn-based RPG territory.
X, Zero, Axl and new allies battle the Liberion Army across Giga City, using party combinations and character-specific abilities through more than 50 missions.
This one is reserved for PlayStation Plus Premium rather than the standard Extra Game Catalog.
Metro Redux | PS4
PS4
Metro Redux packages the remastered versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light.
Both games mix survival horror, stealth and first-person shooting in the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, with much of humanity surviving underground in the city’s Metro system.
Like Mega Man X Command Mission, Metro Redux is part of the Premium lineup.

Don’t forget what leaves PlayStation Plus on September 15
The new arrivals come with the usual trade-off: another group of games is leaving the service.
Ten titles are currently scheduled to disappear on September 15, including Madden NFL 26, Persona 5 Tactica, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII and three Shadowrun RPGs.
The two Toy Story classics are also leaving the Premium catalog.
Game Catalog titles work differently from PlayStation Plus Monthly Games. Simply downloading them does not permanently attach them to your account. Once a title leaves the catalog, the subscription version is no longer playable.

September’s Game Catalog is stronger than it first looks
WWE 2K26 is the obvious recognizable name, but RuneScape: Dragonwilds may be the most important addition because it arrives alongside the game’s full console launch.
The rest of the month is unusually varied. Ball x Pit covers roguelite action, Date Everything! handles the stranger indie end of the catalog, Slitterhead brings horror, Ninja Gaiden covers demanding 2D action and Dungeons of Hinterberg gives RPG players something more relaxed.
Premium is less substantial in pure numbers, but Mega Man X Command Mission is a particularly interesting archival addition for anyone who missed the series’ unusual RPG experiment.
If you are still deciding which PlayStation Plus tier fits you, the simple split remains the same: Extra gets you September’s eight-game Game Catalog lineup, while Premium adds the extra classics and legacy catalog on top.
