Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 Focuses on Customization

Following the underwater Bubbly Basin content from Part 1, the next part of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is taking a different approach.

Instead of introducing another major town, Part 2 is built around customization and additional content for existing areas. The latest trailer showed new accessories that can be equipped by both the playable Ditto and other Pokémon living in your towns.

That direction fits Pokopia particularly well. The game has always leaned more heavily into building, decorating, gathering, and living alongside Pokémon than traditional Gym battles or competitive progression.

The Expansion Pass itself was announced alongside the game’s free underwater update. We covered the original reveal in Pokémon Pokopia Gets Free Underwater Update and Three-Part Paid Expansion Pass.

Which New Pokémon Are Coming in Part 2?

The new trailer directly revealed at least three Pokémon joining Pokopia in Part 2:

  • Doduo
  • Skitty
  • Braixen

Because of how Pokopia’s Pokédex and evolution lines work, their appearance may also point toward Dodrio, Delcatty, Fennekin, and Delphox eventually joining the game. Those additional Pokémon were not directly confirmed in the announcement, however, so Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen are the safest confirmed additions for now.

It also remains unclear exactly how players will attract the new Pokémon. Pokopia often ties Pokémon appearances to habitats, environmental conditions, items, and town development, so Part 2 may introduce new requirements alongside the new species.

Ditto and Other Pokémon Are Getting New Accessories

The biggest new feature shown for Part 2 is expanded Pokémon customization.

The trailer revealed accessories including sunglasses, bow ties, and ribbons. These can be equipped not only by the playable Ditto, but also by other Pokémon living in your towns.

New furniture is also part of the update, meaning Part 2 expands both character customization and town decoration.

Key difference from Part 1: Part 2 currently looks more like a customization-focused expansion than another large exploration update.

That makes it a noticeable change of pace from the previous update. Pokopia’s 2.0 update introduced Dive, underwater building, inventory improvements, and numerous fixes. You can read the major changes in Pokopia’s 2.0 Update Adds a Hefty Bunch of Features and Fixes.

Will Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 Add a New Town?

No. Part 2 will not introduce a new town.

The Expansion Pass roadmap separates the three DLC drops quite clearly. Part 1 added Bubbly Basin, Part 2 concentrates on additional features and customization, and Part 3 will introduce another new town.

Part 3 is scheduled for 2027, although its new area has not yet received a full reveal.

When Is Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 Coming Out?

Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 FAQ

When is Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 coming out?

Part 2 is scheduled for later in 2026, but Nintendo has not announced an exact release date yet.

Will Part 2 add a new town?

No. Part 2 will focus on additional features and customization. Another new town is planned for Part 3 in 2027.

Which new Pokémon were shown for Part 2?

Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen were directly shown in the latest trailer.

What is the main new feature in Part 2?

Customization is the biggest focus revealed so far. Ditto and other Pokémon will be able to wear new accessories, while additional furniture will expand town decoration options.

After Diving, Pokopia Is Heading to the Dressing Room

Part 1 expanded Pokémon Pokopia downward by opening Bubbly Basin and adding underwater exploration. Part 2 looks set to expand the game in a much more cosmetic direction.

The lack of another new town may disappoint players hoping for a second major area this year, but dressing up Pokémon and adding more decoration options fits Pokopia’s cozy, creative structure extremely well.

The remaining question is the release date. Nintendo is still sticking to a broad later-2026 window, so the next update should hopefully tell us exactly when Ditto can begin hosting the biggest fashion show in Pokémon history.
