Xbox has revealed the January 2026 Wave 2 additions for Game Pass, led by Death Stranding Director’s Cut on January 21 and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II on January 29.
This update also includes the puzzle-heavy sequel The Talos Principle 2 on January 27, and it’s a good time to wrap up your backlog. Eight games are set to leave the service on January 31.
If you’re tight on drive space or wondering what to prioritize, this drop gives you a clean structure: big-name releases, deep-cut experiments, and some quick hits you can finish in a weekend.
Xbox Game Pass January 2026 Wave 2
Each game lists supported devices: Cloud, Console, PC, Handheld, or Xbox Series X|S. You will also see which Game Pass tiers include access: Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and in some cases, Game Pass Premium as labeled in the official post. What to Play First
January’s packed with solid options, depending on what kind of experience you’re looking for.
If you’re in the mood for something story-driven and atmospheric, Death Stranding Director’s Cut lands on January 21. It’s a slower burn, but worth it if you want something different.
For co-op action that is all about heavy weapons and squad-based carnage, Space Marine II hits on January 29.
Prefer a slower, more cerebral pace? The Talos Principle 2 drops January 27 and brings smart puzzle design wrapped in thoughtful sci-fi.
If slick visuals and cyberpunk combat are more your speed, Anno: Mutationem arrives January 28 with a mix of side-scrolling action and stylish exploration.
And if you’re after something addictive with quick runs and strategy hooks, Drop Duchy (also out January 28) is that “just one more try” kind of game.
If you are just reactivating your subscription or returning after a break, this wave is a strong entry point.
