The Blood of Dawnwalker does something unusual with its 30-day deadline. Time does not constantly tick away while you explore. Instead, important actions consume chunks of it, turning the calendar into another resource you have to manage.
That puts it in the broad family of games where choosing what to do next also means you might not have time left to do something else.

The Blood of Dawnwalker
The Blood of Dawnwalker gives Coen 30 days and nights to pursue his goals in Vale Sangora, but this is not a Dead Rising-style countdown constantly running in the corner.
Exploration itself does not burn through the calendar. Instead, significant quest actions and decisions can consume chunks of time.
Helping one character, pursuing one lead, or committing to a particular course of action can therefore reduce what you have available for something else.
That makes time part of the role-playing. The question is not simply whether you can complete a quest, but whether it deserves part of the finite time available to Coen.

Persona 5 Royal
Persona 5 Royal is probably the easiest comparison to understand. Joker’s life is divided into calendar days and individual time slots. Going to the movies, studying, working, spending time with a Confidant, or entering the Metaverse means using an opportunity that could have gone somewhere else.
There is no constantly ticking clock. Instead, the game repeatedly asks: what is worth doing today?
Dawnwalker applies a similar principle to an open-world fantasy RPG. Persona tells you that spending the afternoon with one friend means not spending it with another. Dawnwalker can make a quest decision itself consume part of Coen’s remaining calendar.
If you like that structure but want something closer to Dawnwalker’s fantasy setting, Metaphor: ReFantazio is the obvious alternative. It uses a similar Atlus calendar system but applies it to a fantasy journey involving travel, quests, relationships, and fixed deadlines.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns
Marvel’s Midnight Suns breaks progression into days built around missions, training, exploration, research, and relationships at the Abbey.
You generally complete one major mission per day, while other activities occupy their own parts of the daily routine.
After battle comes an evening period where you might spend time with a particular hero, explore, or pursue another activity.
It is less restrictive than Dawnwalker because Midnight Suns is not pushing toward the same finite 30-day endpoint. Still, both games understand the value of segmentation. Time advances because you make a meaningful choice, not because you spent five minutes looking at the scenery.

Sovereign Tower
Sovereign Tower approaches the idea from a management and narrative-RPG angle. You rule from a magical tower, deal with petitions, recruit eccentric Knights, assign them to quests, and make decisions that determine the kingdom’s direction.
The structure is divided into discrete decisions and assignments rather than real-time urgency.
The twist is that Sovereign Tower also lets you turn back time, preserving knowledge while exploring different outcomes.
That makes it an interesting opposite to Dawnwalker. Rebel Wolves wants the pressure to come from knowing you cannot see everything during one run. Sovereign Tower actively makes rewinding and discovering alternative outcomes part of the experience.
Pentiment
Pentiment may be the closest comparison when it comes to the narrative consequences of limited time.
Andreas cannot investigate every lead in a murder case. Conversations, meals, investigations, and other activities advance the day, forcing you to decide which suspects and pieces of evidence deserve attention.
Eventually, you may have to make an important decision knowing perfectly well that there were leads you never followed.
That is very close to what makes Dawnwalker’s system interesting. Limited time is not there primarily to make you play faster. It exists to make incomplete information and missed opportunities part of your version of the story.

Same idea, very different clocks
These games do not use time in exactly the same way, but they share one important rule: time moves because the player commits to something meaningful.
Persona makes you spend afternoons and evenings. Midnight Suns organizes superhero life into missions and daily routines. Pentiment limits how many leads you can chase. Sovereign Tower turns decisions and rewinding history into part of the structure.
The Blood of Dawnwalker takes that philosophy into a large dark fantasy RPG. If its 30-day system works as intended, the deadline should not feel like a stopwatch. It should feel like another choice.
