Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI marketing campaign may be heading to Discord just two days before launch. A new datamine reportedly reveals a limited-time GTA VI collaboration codenamed “Hexagon,” complete with a Vice City-inspired Discord theme, custom app icon, display-name font and an unidentified Discord Quest with an unknown reward.

The promotion has not been officially announced by Rockstar Games or Discord, so the details should still be treated as a leak. However, code uncovered by Discord-focused datamining account Wumpus Central reportedly includes campaign assets, dates and references to Rockstar Games.

What reportedly leaked: the GTA VI x Discord campaign starts November 17, 2026 and includes a themed app icon, full Discord theme and GTA VI-style display-name font. An additional Discord Quest is also referenced, but its requirements and reward remain unknown.

GTA VI could take over Discord on November 17

According to Wumpus Central’s findings, Discord is preparing the campaign under the internal codename Hexagon.

The customization appears to lean heavily into GTA VI’s familiar Vice City aesthetic, giving users several ways to temporarily restyle Discord around Rockstar’s upcoming release.

Leaked featureWhat it appears to do
GTA VI app iconReplaces Discord’s standard app icon with GTA VI branding.
GTA VI app themeRestyles the Discord interface with colors and imagery inspired by the game.
Custom display-name fontGives Discord usernames a GTA-style presentation during the campaign.
Discord QuestA separate promotional challenge is referenced, but its task and reward have not leaked yet.

The promotion reportedly lasts less than three weeks for most users

The dates found in Discord’s code make the campaign look deliberately tied to GTA VI’s launch window.

The promotion is reportedly scheduled to begin on November 17, two days before GTA VI releases worldwide on November 19.

Standard Discord users would apparently have access until December 8. Discord Nitro members may be able to keep the promotional customization active considerably longer, through February 15, 2027.

The mysterious GTA VI Discord Quest is the interesting part

The cosmetic customization is straightforward. The unknown Quest is where things get more interesting.

Discord Quests are opt-in promotional challenges that reward users for engaging with games or videos. Depending on the campaign, Discord officially supports Quests based around playing a game, streaming gameplay to friends, watching promotional videos or even completing specific in-game actions.

Rewards can also vary. Some Quests give Discord-specific items such as avatar decorations or Orbs, while others provide codes redeemable inside a partnered game.

There is currently no evidence that the GTA VI Quest will award an in-game GTA VI item. The datamine reportedly only identifies the presence of a Quest and leaves both its requirements and reward unspecified.

Worth keeping expectations in check: the Quest could be anything from watching a GTA VI trailer for a Discord cosmetic to a more elaborate Rockstar-linked promotion. Until Discord or Rockstar reveals it, claims about exclusive GTA VI rewards are speculation.

This also does not hint at a surprise PC version

There is one slightly strange aspect to the collaboration: Discord is heavily associated with PC gaming, while GTA VI still has no announced PC version.

That does not mean the campaign itself is evidence of a PC announcement. Discord is available across desktop, mobile and consoles, and large game launches routinely use the platform for promotional campaigns regardless of where the game itself runs.

Rockstar’s current launch plan remains PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. If you are waiting for GTA VI on PC, this leak does not change that situation.

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look

Rockstar’s GTA VI marketing is moving into overdrive

A Discord collaboration would fit neatly into the much larger marketing push that has started appearing around GTA VI as launch approaches.

Rockstar recently partnered with the Miami Heat for a November 18 event that will temporarily turn the NBA team’s home game into a Vice City-themed night. The promotion includes Vice City branding around Kaseya Center and an accompanying merchandise line.

If the Discord leak is accurate, that creates a remarkably concentrated launch sequence: the Discord campaign begins on November 17, the Vice City Heat event follows on November 18, and GTA VI launches the next day.

For a game that already barely needs help attracting attention, Rockstar appears prepared to make launch week extremely difficult to ignore.

For now, Hexagon is still only a leak

The timing and amount of code uncovered make the Discord campaign sound plausible, but neither Discord nor Rockstar has formally announced Hexagon yet.

The cosmetic elements themselves appear fairly straightforward. The real question is the Quest. If there is a meaningful reward attached, that could turn what looks like a small Discord reskin into a much more interesting launch-week promotion.

For now, though, the only safe conclusion is that GTA VI branding appears to be waiting inside Discord’s code, ready to arrive just before one of the biggest game launches of the year.
