007 First Light has reached another major sales milestone. IO Interactive has announced that its James Bond origin story has now sold more than 4 million copies worldwide.
The milestone comes less than three months after the game’s May 27, 2026 launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It follows an already strong debut, with First Light selling 1.5 million copies during its first 24 hours and 2.7 million during its opening week.
Bond’s first mission is proving successful
007 First Light is a standalone reimagining of James Bond’s origin rather than an adaptation of an existing movie. It follows a younger Bond as he enters MI6’s revived Double 0 program and works his way toward becoming 007.
Developed by the studio behind Hitman, the game mixes stealth, social infiltration, gadgets, driving, hand-to-hand combat, and third-person shooting. Missions can often be approached quietly or aggressively, carrying over some of IO Interactive’s sandbox design philosophy into the Bond universe.
The new four-million figure makes the game’s commercial performance even more notable for IO Interactive. The studio previously described First Light as its fastest-selling game after it reached 1.5 million copies in just one day.
A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also still planned for later in 2026, meaning the current sales total has been reached before that version enters the market.
