Vampire Survivors is getting another expansion very soon. Legacy of the Bloodmoon launches on August 28, 2026, adding a darker new adventure built around the Bloodmoon Clan and the remains of the mysterious Order of the Red Moon.

A darker Vampire Survivors expansion

Poncle describes Legacy of the Bloodmoon as the game’s darkest expansion so far. Its story follows members of Clan Bloodmoon as they retrace the pilgrimage of Saint Baal’Thasar, founder of the Order of the Red Moon, in search of the paradise he supposedly discovered before disappearing.

The DLC adds more than 10 new characters, 16+ new weapons and evolutions, eight new music tracks, a new Adventure, and one large stage. The new cast includes Malice Bloodmoon, Calogero Bloodmoon, Baal’Thasar, Ashtart, and Sargon, while weapons range from the Scarlet Needle and Incineration to the wonderfully straightforward FireBall.

It started as a Legacy of the Moonspell update

Interestingly, Legacy of the Bloodmoon was not originally planned as a standalone expansion. Poncle says the project began as a smaller content update for Legacy of the Moonspell, but kept growing until it made more sense to turn it into a separate DLC. Moonspell is still getting its own free content update alongside Bloodmoon, including seven new unlocks.

Legacy of the Bloodmoon is scheduled to launch on August 28. On Steam, the expansion is priced at roughly $0.99, with regional pricing varying by platform and country.
