There’s nostalgia around the corner as we get our first look at Atari’s new home console.
Once a potent player in the video game hardware field, Atari has not been present in this market since the 90s. They’re back now with a promise of “a new product that stays true to our heritage while appealing to both old and new fans of Atari,” as the company put it on Monday.
Without any detailed information about the release date, price or specifications, we only now that Ataribox will be a games console that is set to unify the old and the new, bringing its buyers both classic and contemporary game content.
The company stated that it’s going to be revealing information “step by step”, so we can expect bits and pieces over the coming months, which will eventually prove whether Atari will have an upper hand with its direct competitor, Nintendo’s NES Mini.
