The 31st update to this super popular hack and slash in the vein of the Diablo series comes packed with tons of stuff, including mercenaries who you can employ to help you out in your quests.
The way mercenaries work is that once you track one down, you can do one of the following:
- Hire them to aid you in your missions via unique gear and passive buffs.
- Duel them for the items in their possession.
- Exile them so that maybe you can encounter types of mercenaries more to your liking.
The thing is that they’re pretty much like another player, just AI-controlled. They even come with their own builds and gear, which you can inspect before you make your decision. Their stats and items are unique, so this means you won’t get these anywhere else. That’s why you gotta catch ‘em all during the new league!
The Secrets of the Atlas update comes with a new endgame storyline, monsters dropping temporary powers that you can use to your advantage, new bosses, crafting items, and a whole bunch of quality of life improvements.
The update is set for a June 13, 2025 release.
