Hello Games have just revealed what the improved version of their flagship title has in store for its owners. One thing’s for sure: this update, called Beacon, is huge. And it’s dropping on June 5, 2025.
One of the most important features of the Beacon update is the fact that the game’s going to make good use of Nintendo Switch 2’s greater hardware capabilities. After all, it’s pretty much the first handheld to support DLSS, and that’s just the start of what’s been upgraded in this version of No Man’s Sky.
The Beacon update is of course multi-platform, so it’s going to apply to all versions of the game.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will get all of the following things:
- Multiplayer
- Visual improvements: 4K texture support, DLSS, DRS, increased geometry, TV mode and handheld resolution upgrade
- Framerate improvements
- New settlements to explore
- Crisp UI, touch controls, and gyro support
- Cross-play and cross-save capabilities
And it’s all for free for No Man’s Sky owners.
