You’d think in the almost three decades since the very first Pokémon game we’d have received official Lego sets based on the Pocket Monsters, but somehow it’s never happened before. Thankfully, reality is going to correct this gross oversight in 2026.

As revealed by Lego and Pokémon-related social media, come next year we’re finally getting proper Poke-blocks. The associated video is very short and shows barely more than a few yellow bricks assembled in the shape of a Pikachu tail, but that is enough to send people scrambling to set aside a brick fund just in case.

Even the press release (https://press.pokemon.com/en/releases/LEGOPokemonPartnership) offers few specifics, but it suggests the collaboration will go further than anybody expects. It will albo probably give us a chance to build a life-sized Pikachu, although that’s only an educated guess..

More details are sure to come closer to the launch of the line in 2026. For now, we can practice managing expectations and looking up cool MOCs.
