Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will launch worldwide on August 25, 2026, developer Cold Iron Studios and publisher Daybreak Game Company have confirmed.
The cooperative third-person shooter is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. No PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions have been announced.
Release Date Follows the Sequel’s May Reveal
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 was formally revealed in May 2026 with an initial summer release window. The newly announced August 25 date places the sequel almost exactly five years after the original Aliens: Fireteam Elite launched on August 24, 2021.
The sequel is being developed by Cold Iron Studios and published by Daybreak in collaboration with 20th Century Games.
Four-Player Co-op Expands the Original Formula
Fireteam Elite 2 increases the maximum squad size from three to four players. Cold Iron says the change is supported by deeper squad mechanics, new and revised classes, and encounters designed to reward coordinated team compositions.
Players will face Xenomorph swarms, Pathogen creatures, and Weyland-Yutani combat synthetics. The game will also introduce a customizable Specialist class that can combine major and minor abilities from the other available classes.
Multiple dedicated Horde maps are planned for launch, offering increasingly difficult waves and additional rewards. Full cross-platform multiplayer was also listed in the game’s official fact sheet.
Two Editions Planned for Launch
The standard digital edition is priced at $49.99, while a 40th Anniversary Premium Edition will cost $69.99. The premium package includes additional downloadable content inspired by the wider Alien universe, including cosmetic and weapon content connected to Ellen Ripley and Alien: Romulus character Rain Carradine.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is available to wishlist ahead of its August 25, 2026, release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
