Assassin’s Creed Unity 60 FPS Patch Release Date

Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Unity will receive a 60 FPS update on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The patch will improve performance on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, allowing players to explore Paris with much smoother gameplay.

The studio shared the news in a blog post about the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, noting that fans have been asking for this upgrade for years.

Worth Knowing: Assassin’s Creed Unity originally launched in 2014 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and became famous for its detailed recreation of 18th-century Paris.

According to Ubisoft:

“We know some of you have been waiting for it for a long time, so get ready to re-experience 18th-century Paris and Arno’s fancy parkour moves with more smoothness on consoles!”

Xbox Free Play Days Event

Xbox players will also get another bonus soon. Ubisoft confirmed that several Assassin’s Creed games will be available during Xbox Free Play Days from April 2 to April 6.

This event gives players the perfect opportunity to try Assassin’s Creed Unity with the new 60 FPS update if they haven’t experienced the game yet.

The Future of Assassin’s Creed

The announcement also included updates about the broader future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, which remains one of the best-selling gaming series of all time.

Last year’s release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, performed strongly at launch, selling around 3 million copies within its first two months. Approximately 75% of those sales were on consoles.

Ubisoft also confirmed that updates for current titles will become less frequent as the studio shifts its focus toward upcoming projects.

Upcoming Assassin’s Creed Projects

  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake – a modernized version of the pirate classic
  • Assassin’s Creed Hexe – a darker, narrative-focused entry
  • Assassin’s Creed Invictus – a multiplayer-focused project
  • Assassin’s Creed Jade – an open-world mobile game developed with Tencent

Ubisoft will also host a Twitch event on March 20 to discuss the latest updates and future plans for the franchise.

Revisiting Paris in 60 FPS

With the new patch, players will be able to explore one of the most detailed Assassin’s Creed cities ever created with improved performance.

For many fans, Unity’s parkour system, dense city design, and cooperative missions made it one of the most ambitious games in the series. The new update gives both returning players and newcomers a reason to revisit Arno’s adventure.
