Assetto Corsa Rally (AC Rally) entered Early Access on November 13, 2025. This is the first fully rally-focused entry in the Assetto Corsa series. It’s a dedicated title built for serious sim drivers.
The focus is precision driving, mechanical feedback, and rally realism powered by laser-scanned stages and AC’s proven physics engine.
What You Get in AC Rally Early Access 0.1
Supernova Games Studios has released the first version with a strong foundation. Players are invited to test, give feedback, and help shape what’s next. Here’s what’s available right now.
Tech and Physics
The game uses a custom Unreal Engine 5 build for visuals, but under the hood, it’s all Assetto Corsa physics. These have been retuned specifically for rallying. Expect accurate terrain response, real grip changes, and detailed mechanical modeling. It’s demanding, and it should be.
Stages in This Build
There are four real-world rally stages, all 3D laser-scanned:
- Rally Alsace (Tarmac): Munster and Saverne
- Rally Wales (Gravel): Hafren South and Hafren North
Each route includes proper road surface, elevation, and corner geometry to match its real counterpart.
Initial Car List
The current build includes ten licensed rally cars across front-wheel, rear-wheel, and all-wheel drive setups. The lineup covers a mix of eras and styles:
- Mini Cooper S Gr.2 (1964)
- Lancia Stratos Gr.4
- Citroen Xsara WRC
- Hyundai i20N Rally2 (2021)
Each car feels different behind the wheel. Handling, grip, and weight transfer respond realistically based on drivetrain and layout. Switching between front, rear, and all-wheel drive changes how you approach corners, throttle control, and braking zones.
Gameplay and Difficulty
AC Rally isn’t really casual. There’s no hand-holding. You deal with weather changes, surface transitions, and vehicle setup every time you drive. It’s built for players who enjoy practicing and improving.
Available modes:
- Free Practice
- Single Rally Stage
- Time Attack
- Assetto Corsa Rally Events with global leaderboards
A proper co-driver system is included with pace notes that follow real rally formats.
Hardware Support and VR
Current hardware support includes:
- Triple monitor setups
- Direct Input wheels and peripherals
- Advanced damage system and layered audio feedback
VR is not supported in this release, but it is part of the roadmap.
Broader Context and Future Plans
The game is developed by Supernova Games Studios in collaboration with Kunos Simulazioni and published by 505 Games. Their goal is to bring Assetto Corsa’s simulation depth into the rally world without compromise.
The devs are actively collecting player input via Discord and email. A full 1.0 release is expected within 18 months. Planned additions include:
- 30 cars
- More rally stages in new countries
- Full VR support
- Expanded game modes
- A dedicated rally school
Trend-chasing has nothing to do with it. This is sim racing taking on one of motorsport’s toughest formats. If you’ve logged time in DiRT Rally or Richard Burns Rally, you’ll know what to expect. If not, it might teach you a few things.
