The Battlefield 6 beta is already making headlines, and it hasn’t even officially launched.

The Battlefield 6 beta queue on Steam is growing rapidly, with players facing massive wait times. IGN’s Jesse Gomez was placed at position 22,880, which later jumped to over 31,000 – proof of the overwhelming demand and the community’s eagerness to experience the game firsthand.

Preload day – over 25k waiting in home screen

Battlefield 6 preload began on August 4, giving players a chance to prepare their systems and settings ahead of time. Early access kicks off on August 7 at 1:00 AM PT, and anticipation is building fast. Even before stepping onto the battlefield, fans are already diving into the menus, customizing HUDs, tweaking FOV settings, and sharing their excitement across social media platforms. There’s also a Twitch collaboration, with drops, keys to early access, skins and many more! Screenshots, setup guides, and first impressions are flooding forums and Discord servers, showing just how engaged the community is.

According to SteamDB, the beta has already hit 17,477 concurrent players on Steam, making it the most-played Battlefield beta on the platform so far. This massive interest could signal a strong comeback for the franchise, which has faced mixed reactions in recent years. EA seems determined to win back players, with producer Jeremy Chubb revealing that Battlefield 6 draws Bad Company 2 inspiration – a move that has sparked hope among longtime fans.

However, the huge demand also raises concerns about server stability. With the Steam queue growing by the hour, there’s a risk that technical issues could affect the beta’s reception. The sheer number of players trying to access the EA Battlefield 6 Steam beta is putting serious pressure on the servers, and any major hiccups could damage the game’s early reputation.

If servers struggle to handle the load, it might frustrate players and impact early impressions of this EA shooter. Still, the excitement is undeniable, and if EA can deliver a smooth experience, Battlefield 6 could mark a major turning point for the series.
