Battlefield 6 goes completely free for a week – here’s all you need to know to make the most of this special event.
Battlefield 6 Free Week Announcement
EA has decided to let all the interested people try the most recent installment in the Battlefield series free of charge. You’ve heard that right – for a whole week, you’ll be able to access and play Battlefield 6 for free.
But there’s a catch. The version available for free has some restrictions. You won’t be able to access some Battlefield 6 game modes, and only a few Battlefield 6 maps will be accessible for free. On the other hand, there seem to be no restrictions on gained levels and acquired experience points.

Clearly, the timing is not a coincidence; Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas – converting as many people as possible during this period looks like a solid marketing move.
Even though there are some restrictions, it’s still nice to be able to try the game for free and see whether you like it or not before you buy it. BF6 is not cheap; it goes for $69.99 without discounts, so a free trial is greatly appreciated, even if it’s a time-limited one.
BF6 Modes in the Free Trial
Battlefield trial gives access to several game modes, some of which you may already know from other games in the shooter genre. Available game modes include:
- Initiation Breakthrough
- Sabotage
- Team Deathmatch
- Conquest
- Escalation
- Breakthrough
In terms of gameplay variety, that should be enough to keep you busy for the entire week. Free game modes will test your multiplayer tactics and squad gameplay skills, but it’s recommended to start from Initiation Breakthrough, a more casual-oriented mode for up to 48 players, where you’ll face both human players and bots.
Modes such as Rush, Domination, and King of the Hill will be unavailable for the free-to-play players.
Free Week BF6 Maps
Battlefield 6 opens only 3 battle maps to free-to-play players:
- Siege of Cairo
- Eastwood
- Blackwell Fields
The latter two are a part of the most recent seasonal content update.
Even though the selection is rather small when compared to the total of 12 maps the full game has to offer, the free maps are varied enough that you’ll be able to get a general idea about gameplay in BF6.
It’s also worth noting that Eastwood is currently considered one of the best maps in the game by a lot of people, so make sure to check out what all the fuss is about.
How to Access BF 6 Free Trial?
To play Battlefield 6 for free during the free week, you need to download the free-to-play Battlefield: REDSEC on the platform of your choice. The free version of BF6 will be a part of the BF: REDSEC experience.
Does Progress from the Free Trial BF6 Carry Over to the Full Game?
Yes, any progress you make in Battlefield 6 during the free trial period will be transferred to the main game after purchase. This includes your Career Rank, Hardware Unlocks, Levels, Customization Items, and more.
Moreover, if you’re already playing Battlefield: REDSEC, your progress from that game will carry over to the Battlefield 6 free trial.
