Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is the 22nd main installment in the legendary Call of Duty franchise and the seventh chapter of the Black Ops sub-series, once again crafted by Treyarch.
The full release is set for later this year, but Activision has prepared something special for die-hard fans and dedicated CoD players!
The Call of Duty Black Ops 7 open beta officially kicks off on October 2, 2025! So what do you need to jump in, on which platforms will you be able to play, and what else should you know before diving into the beta?
The Beta Schedule – Who Gets In First?
October 2 is the key date, but here’s the catch: you’ll only get access that early if you’ve already pre-ordered the game or if you’re subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate (the top-tier plan that covers both PC and Xbox consoles, plus a bunch of perks). That’s your fast pass to the servers right from day one.
For everyone else, the doors open on October 5 — three days later. It’s a classic “early access” vibe: loyal fans and pre-order players get rewarded, while the rest of the community has to wait a bit longer. Of course, it’s also a clever way to turn up the hype before launch. Who knows, maybe trying the beta will convince you to lock in your purchase before release?
The beta will run for several days, serving its usual double purpose: stress-testing the servers and gathering community feedback on maps, balance, and gameplay flow.
And if you’re playing on PlayStation, there’s good news too: you can jump into the open beta as soon as it goes live — provided you pre-ordered either the Vault Edition or the Cross-Gen version.
What Do You Get With A Pre-Order?
Aside from Black Ops 7 early access Game Pass entry, Activision has lined up some juicy extras. The star of the show is the Reznov Challenge Pack — a fan-service bundle inspired by one of the franchise’s most iconic characters. Inside you’ll find:
- The SOG Reznov operator skin (known from Black Ops 6 and Warzone)
- Extra cosmetics: Stalingrad Reznov and Memory Reznov
Just keep in mind: the pack must be claimed before November 14, 2026. That’s a long runway, but still — don’t put it off forever.
And of course, the cross-gen bundle will also be available, covering Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. That way, if you swap consoles mid-cycle, your access to the game stays safe.
Why Is The Beta Such A Big Deal?
For us — players — it’s obvious: a chance to see if the new installment hits the right notes, to test maps, pacing, and balance before committing. For streamers and content creators, it’s the perfect chance to showcase fresh gameplay to their communities.
And for Activision? Betas are a proven hype machine, nudging undecided players toward pre-orders and subscriptions.
This year is extra interesting. Thanks to Game Pass Ultimate, more people than ever will be able to hop in. What does that mean? Servers could be bursting at the seams from day one!

Every Black Ops release sparks massive excitement — and the fact that we’re now at the seventh entry says it all: fans just can’t get enough. And judging by the momentum, Black Ops 7 definitely won’t be the last one.
