In 2017 Diablo 3 will go back to its roots when the Rise of the Necromancer pack is released.
The classic Diablo 2 class returns, complete with Bone Spears, reanimated skeletons and exploding corpses. While this will not be the same character the long-time fans are familiar with, it will certainly be the same class, holding the same power over the undead. In addition to the new playable class, the Rise of the Necromancer pack will add a new pet, two more character slots, portrait frames and more.
Another piece of content announced for Diablo 3 is an annual event called The Darkening of Tristram, which will take the players to the levels and bosses of Diablo 1 recreated in D3, with eight-directional movement, old-timey visual filter and unmistakable nostalgic atmosphere.
The Rise of the Necromancer pack will be available in 2017 to everyone will access to Diablo 3: The Reaper of Souls or Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition.
