Developers of Cyberpunk 2077 keep delivering; patch 2.3 was recently announced and people are wondering what’s in the store this time.

Another “Final” Update for Cyberpunk 2077

At this point it’s becoming a bit of a meme; the Reddit community loves to make fun of CDPR’s “final” updates that somehow always end up being not-so-final. Such is the case this time. Again.

But is it a bad thing?

On one hand, you have the case of constantly breaking promises – if you’re waiting for the game to reach its final state, your patience may start running out soon.

But, on the other hand, you can see how genuinely passionate developers are about this project. It clearly shows how deeply they care about Cyberpunk, and how much they want to make the game the best it could be. Remember that these updates are completely free for everyone who owns the game; developers don’t charge extra for all that additional work.

At this point, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the previous final patch was not final. Perhaps we should treat all of that as CDPR’s redemption arc after a rocky release of Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2020.

Everyone’s wondering what will the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 update bring, so let’s talk about it.

New Features in 2.3?

Update 2.3 – that’s the name – is around the corner. The new patch is scheduled to be released on June 26 and got people pretty excited even though no details were yet disclosed. That’s because previous post-2.0 patches brought some cool new features and additions, even though players were originally told that they’ll only be getting occasional fixes after 2.0 is out.

So, what can we expect to find in the upcoming patch? Well, that’s still unknown. At the time of writing this, we still didn’t get any patch notes from CDPR; as such, all we have are pure speculations based on previous updates.

But why did people get excited if we don’t know anything about the new patch yet?

That’s because of the patch ordering; number 2.3 indicates that in terms of significance, it’s in line with 2.1 and 2.2, both of which brought meaningful changes to the game. Lesser updates are followed by one extra digit, for example, 2.11 and 2.12. As such, people are hoping to see some new major adjustments, features, fixes, customization options, and more.

Follow us and the official channels to learn about the details once the patch notes are out. Everything should be revealed soon.

Cyberpunk Patch – Community Expectations

Even though the details of the update are not known yet, players have a list of things they’d love to be eventually addressed by the devs at some point, not necessarily in 2.3.

Some of the most wanted features and changes include full mod support (including consoles), a fix for HDR which doesn’t seem to be working properly in all cases, FSR 4 upscaling support, a New Game Plus mode, and more customization options for various things, such as clothes, haircuts, cyberware, and so on.

Perhaps some of these wishes are closer to being fulfilled than you may think.

CDPR Surprise Patch – Are There More Updates to Come After 2.3?

CD Projekt Red developers already stated several times that there are no plans for additional updates, yet they keep releasing new ones. Initially, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and 2.0 was meant to be the final major update for Cyberpunk, with just small bug fixes later.

Yet, we received an important 2.1 update later on, adding the long-anticipated romantic hangouts feature among other things. Since then, the game received several more updates, with each one meant to be the final one.

As such, we can’t rule out the possibility that Cyberpunk 2077 will keep getting new updates even after 2.3; minor bug fixes are likely to follow, but 2.4 may be on the table as well. Time will tell.
